So you are assuming that Mike's version is right? Doesn't make sense and it's clear there is alot of info on both sides missing. I will give the West mec president and s.t. the benefit of the doubt. Mike Flores has political motive to want our president out. I do agree with the other person who stated we should not put this stuff on this site.

Our president doesn't pose a threat to anyone on the east, we are complete separate groups and will remain so until there is a joint contract. How about his motive is integrity. Anyone who knows Mike knows he would not subject himself, his family or his membership to all of this BS if this wasn't something that could seriously jeopardize the membership. I agree with the others, I don't care what it is or what it was you do not go through someone's bags, someone binders/folders or whatever and take something that you "think" you have an entitlement too. The sad thing is 66 could really benefit from the East's experience in dealing with management especially during negotiations but instead they chose to lie, cheat and steal. These are the people that Mike has to sit down with and negotiate a contract that benefits nearly 8000 members and nearly 5000 of those he has to answer too.

The members on the East couldn't be more thrilled that 66's section 6 is being revisited, we would gladly roll up our sleeves and stand behind you. With the East membership behind you, you carry a lot more weight then standing alone. 5000 behind you is much better then 5000 in front of you, we are not your enemy but your leadership and this stunt my end up drawing a line in the sand. No one wants to see that, except maybe the company.

You did not make your case about the "not making sense" thingy. Can you do it here? Please. What, about his version does not make sense?

Again, please lay out a credible "political motive" that would cause Flores to want your "president out". Maybe a little more on the "facts" and less on the "feelings" would help your case.

We don't know all of the facts and didn't know anything about this until it hit this board. If any of the reps knew about this, they have kept mum about it because they should.

If this has been kicked up to AFA national, there is a proper process for handling these kind of issues.

For reference, read our Constitution and Bylaws on the AFA-CWA website. Specificly, the Ethical Practices Code, XV and Article X, the Hearing and Appeal Procedures.

AFA 66 eCommunication - Wednesday, May 6, 2009

Charges Filed with AFA Against MEC Officers

In keeping with our promises to provide open communication and
transparency in AFA union work, please be advised that on April
1, 2009 AFA East MEC President Mike Flores, filed charges with
the AFA International Office against AFA West MEC President Lisa
LeCarre and MEC Secretary Treasurer, Jeff Albers. MEC East
President Mr. Flores' remedy is to remove the two officers that
this membership has elected, thereby placing control of this
council, joint negotiations and your future in the hands of the
East MEC. These charges are supported by this Council’s MEC Vice
President. The removal of both MEC Officer positions will place
the Vice President in control of this council, in accordance
with the AFA Constitution and Bylaws; Article III, 5.

While your officers are not permitted to respond specifically to
these charges via this forum, we will have the ability to
present the facts as related to the political nature of these
charges, as well as an actual account of the events that
motivated Mr. Flores to file such charges.

Our goal is to have this matter heard and settled as quickly as
possible. Unfortunately due to the schedule of the Hearing Board
members, a date could be set as early as May, or as late as the
end of June. Please reference the AFA Constitution and Bylaws,
Article X and Section XIII with respect to the procedures used
by the Hearing Board when conducting a hearing. The AFA Hearing
Board is comprised of members of the AFA Board of Directors

Due to the costs involved, and in order to assure that all of
our witnesses are available to the Hearing Board, we have made a
formal request that the Hearing Board hear this matter locally,
in Phoenix.

While the allegations of Mr. Flores clearly places strain upon
the ability to negotiate on a level playing field, your West
negotiators, MEC President Lisa LeCarre and MEC
Secretary-Treasurer Jeff Albers, will continue our
responsibility of negotiating in the best interests and for the
good of our membership. Additionally, we will proceed forward
with the scheduled sessions under Section 6 negotiations under
the guidance of a Federal Mediator

In the meantime, we will continue to do the work that you and
the rest of the membership elected us to do. Until our
membership says otherwise, our focus will remain on you. Thank
you.

This is SICK. Wipe them out. AFA should be ashamed. No you can't have special treatment and have the hearing in PHX. Pack your bags and go defend yourself in DC. Do the crime, do the time. Your own VP turned you in. Why are we the members just hearing about this? Listen Lisa and Jeff. The Ethics board decides what punishment you get if any. It may be removal from office or something else. You did 6000 of us a great disservice if you get thrown out. Further stalling our contract.

The hearing board is already set for June 24th to coincide with the CWA conference, why is she acting like she doesn't know when it is? Let's not forget who was behind the LAST ouster of a MEC President. That's right folks, non other than Dorene, our current MEC Vice-President (who rode in on the coat tails of Lisa). Guess who becomes the President should she be successful, once again, with a SECOND attempt to oust a Pres? Yeah, right, no motive here. Leopards don't change their spots. I'm sticking with Lisa and Jeff. Innocent until proven guilty.
