I am only making reference to the activity of the MEC leaders in PHX. If such illegal acts were to happen on the East, I would feel the same way. Yes, We all deserve better, but there is a huge difference in incompetence and what has transpired at 66. BIG!!LCC, lets extend your statement to the East people as well. WE DESERVE BETTER. So you are based in CLT correct? Start looking at your own council. Certainly a lot to do there. PHL I can't even begin to discribe our problem! As Dr Phil would say-whats your "payoff" Obviously you all get some sick payoff to voting in nerdowells. Look inside yourselves otherwise you all deserve to make $30,000 for the rest of you life and sit 24/7 reserve.
Not that it matters when it comes to family, but, expenses incurred in order to attend a union meeting are tax deductible, consult your tax advisor for nuance. For many, that could pay for at least one hotel, just saying.Opps Becky has a volleyball game....gotta miss that AFA meeting. Wait, I commute from PIT and have no time to see where my paycheck comes from OPPS. CLT gals, the annual Hickory BBQ and Ho Down is the same day Annie C wants to talk about my pay. OH WELL! Suck it up sisters.
Folks, we all have opinions on what AFA does. But this situation will show a classic way of how a union works. OUR union... It really doesn't matter if you are East or West on this one. An independant body of F/A's from other airlines will hear, deduct, and rule on the behavior of those accused. In the end, their decission will determine their outcome. This is classic union organization at work. IN HOUSE... This is the way it is supposed to be done.
The same holds true when you are on the line. If you have a problem with something, take it up with the union first. Let them take the ball before you go and bypass the system completely. If everyone did, employee's of this company (F/A's) would have a safer more efficient way of dealing with issues that pertain specifically to our group. Going straight to the company only gives you one recourse.
Bottom line, our constitution and bylaws govern what a union official can, and can not do....
Given the severity of this issue, my opinion is that the WEST will be looking at another election... However, that is still just my opinion. Until the Hearing Board makes their decision, those accused are innocent. And should be treated as such. We all have opinions on this issue. Let us take this oportunity to allow OUR system to work out the details...
Just my opinion...
