So nobody's going to jail,.............
INTEGRITY MATTERS

"So nobody's going to jail" = "INTEGRITY MATTERS"?? Sigh... I know that I'm certainly, ever more and more impressed.

"So nobody's going to jail,............. ".As of tonight. I hope not ever, but: "You just can't fix stupid". None can see the future.

Its a civil lawsuit. What fusapa appears to be after is a "cease and desist order." Oh yea - and money. Money, money, money. So nobody's going to jail, regardless of the outcome.

And at first blush, the vast majority of the claims are leaning strongly towards being frivilous, with no proof what-so-ever. Hell, they don't even have their defendants list put together yet.

If nothing else, the baby union will spend more money with this lawsuit than they can ever expect to recover. And they will most likely aide the west in steeling our resolve, and at the same time could look like fools to those eastyz who still have a head on their shoulders.

This post is so important it's been posted twice. Is this going to be another one of those "you'll be lucky to get 200 cards" comment.

It's not about the money, it's about the unacceptable behavior. You are correct in that it is a civil lawsuit and no one is going to jail, but that can change.

This really is quite sad, to see professionals we're associated with behaving like this; I never would have thought that some of our pilots would behave in this manner, especially when considering who some of the individuals are; you would think they would hold themselves to a higher standard.

I am also surprised that you are actually condoning this behavior, perhaps you don't understand the definition of integrity........

They most certainly could go to jail. A racketeering conviction in North Carolina can get up to 20 years in prison.

Exactly. Just because USAPA as not asked the US Attorney's office to file criminal charges, that does not preclude that office from doing so on their own. Only the government can press criminal charges, so USAPA is limited to a civil case.

The US attorney or the Attorney General of NC may decide to pursue the case themselves. Of course a lot of that decision is probably based on politics, proability of success and how high a profile the case may turn out to be. There is little doubt in my mind that th e appropriate government prosecutors are reviewing this lawsuit.

You should reread the complaint, again. Let me copy a pertinent section for you.

79. On or about May 26, 2008, the U.S. Postal Service informed USAPA that
injurious articles, including rocks, have been sent through the mail addressed to
USAPA’s post office box. There were also two instances in April 2008 of envelopes
containing feces being sent through the mail to USAPA’s post office box.
Upon
information and belief, such mailings were made with intent to injure other persons, the
mails or other property. The mailing of such nonmailable matter violates 18 U.S.C. §
1716, and subjects the person(s) responsible to fine or imprisonment of not more than
twenty years, or both. The U.S. Postal Service has requested USAPA’s assistance in
identifying the responsible parties and putting an end to this unlawful conduct. Upon
information and belief, one or more of the defendants or their co-conspirators are
responsible for this conduct.
If I were a betting individual, I would say some people will be gainfully employed working within the corrections department. Sending bio hazard through the mail does not endear one to the postal service. Especially in this day and time.

NLC. Your right in your observation, this is a civil matter filed by USAPA. When the postal inspectors get through with this.......good luck to the individuals who used the mail. While your defense of your comrades is admirable, it's a little misplaced at this time.

I think this is just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak.

In the hands of a child, a childish prank is just that.

In the hands of ostensibly responsible airline pilots, a childish prank may well be a criminal matter.

If any of these allegations are found true by a jury trial, that may not be the end of it even if the government declines to press criminal charges.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
§ 61.153 Eligibility requirements: General.

To be eligible for an airline transport pilot certificate, a person must:

c ) Be of good moral character;
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The FAA may weigh in with severe certificate penalties in the aftermath of all of this.

Sad.

That's purely appalling behavior that's more appropriate to dyspeptic zoo monkeys than supposed "professional pilots" in any case. I find myself desperately wanting to find any way to disbelieve that such things even happened. Let's hear another round of hearty cheers for the "INTEGRITY" of any/all, so utterly despicable as to do such things, or find such doings to be "acceptable" in ANY way. There's clearly, serious confusion between "Integrity" and "Depravity" within some very, very "troubled" minds out there.

I see all you eastyz have already conducted your trial proceedings and have found the defendant guilty. Now that's some speedy and deep thinking for ya.......

I just can't help but wonder how difficult it would be for Field General Stevie B. to send himself a couple samples of dog poop through the mail. Wouldn't be difficult at all - even for him. And it sure would add some nice gravy to "beef up" the frivilous lawsuit he and his land$$$hark planned to file.

"Yep, here you go Your Honor, here's your evidence right here."

That you would so easilly, and immediately suggest any such speaks volumes by itself. "Now that's some speedy and deep thinking for ya......." of an "interesting" sort. We must also then "reasonably" assume that the moronic doll-noose stunt was a "setup", along with all the other fine behavior now being routinely evidenced by some out west?...Sure thing...No problem at ll.

I had a feeling that it would not take very long for someone in the self proclaimed "integrity matters" gang to accuse Bradford of sending himself a package of sh*t - multiple times. How absurd.

At least you admit that the act has been perpetrated. Your group has lost all credibility.
