The "dvd" From Awa-former

What is the deal with the DVD? Is it something afa66 sent to USeast members?

I read my updates from afa66, but don't remember seing anything about a DVD.

Please, PLEASE, I have mentioned this before, PLEASE don't assume that ALL HP FAs are big seniority cry babies!
I seriously doubt the BOD will go for changing the policy, but if they did, I'm not sure I would be entirely comfortable with the 'free' seniority.
I can't imagine it would be too pleasent working with one or more east FAs who were 'robbed' of their seniority.

And, put me on the list for CLT. When my kids are big, I'm outta here!
A 20yr fence on PHX would NOT be to my benefit.
AND furthermore, I do not want to wait 20years before I can fly with US east folks!
I'm actually EXCITED to be part of a 'big' multi-base, international carrier.

That is embarrassing as hell. I would be ashamed to be on that DVD. Were those real F/A's or actors. They came off as though they were talking done to US East F/A's. I still don't understand why all the fuss. EVERYONE knew that DOH was in the C&B's. It was that way when we bought PSA and Piedmont. It should be that way in this MERGER. To have the HP LEC try to back date this agenda says alot for that guy. I didn't like dropping when PSA came onboard or even Piedmont, but you know what, it was in the rules and we went with it. To changed it mid stream is embarrasing. One of the F/A's on the video states that we think we were saving HP. I don't believe anyone at US East has ever said that. She should have read that script alittle better and gotten alittle better information, instead of the kool-aid their LEC in providing.
 
I have to admit that the DVD produced by AWA LEC/MEC is not the best, but you have to admit it is creative. We all knew that senority would be an issue. With approx 2000 US/East FA's above US/West most senior FA I can see the concern is a valid issue. For me I not looking forward to my senority going south to the tune of 5000 positions and with 15 years in that just sucks. I did not ask for this merger and did not vote for the merger but, I get the shaft from it.

Hopefully with the transition agreement and the fence around PHX will help somewhat and that most of the US/East FA's want to stay out east. Time will tell.
 
The video wasn't as bad as y'all made it sound. But whatever...I'm about to have a whole other airline of people senior to me thrown on top of the people at US already senior to me.

I don't think the HP people senior to me should complain. It's DOH for better or worse. Not sure what to think about the 600 or so hired after me. They'll still be at a higher pay rate than me with more vacation since they've been active longer. Hell, I would have gladly continued flying. And I haven't been sitting on my butt. That's a tough one but I think DOH is probably the most cut and dry...I don't think I'll be hurting too many people with my 6/2000 seniority date. I might accept recall to PHX if that was the only place open but I reckon that won't happen. I'd prefer Philly anyway. Once the dust settles you're going to have about 200 or so openings in PHX filled by US people alot senior to me (not 8000.) There aren't even 8000 active. I'll probably be shipped right to LGA if recalled. I guess if there was another furlough it would suck. But hey, it's sucked for me for almost three years and I've survived.

Not to mention NOBODY has offered up any real alternative. What was up with those graphs?

Heard a rumor today that this is just a prelude to another merger with someone even bigger...better hold on to your DOH!
 
I Sent out the letter from the union to all of the BOD's and got some responses back saying DOH is the Only way! :up:
 
Shane on all of you for you childish responses... the only one that had any substance depth or resoponse is pitbull and multitaskers. The whole point of changing the DOH is so there isn't a permanent formula in place... so it can be tailored to each individual merger because from here on out they are most likely to unique like this one. If you were in our position you would try and do everything that was fair for your side. You would also have the same anxiety that we have after reading countelss hotlines from Mr. Evil Mike Flores who seems not to care about anything or anyone. Sure let's debate the topic but to ridicule and make fun ... not good!
 
When US merged in the past with Piedmont and PSA everyone's seniority was adjusted due to DOH. Some went above and some went below. We honored DOH in the past because that is what AFA dictated. There were senior and junior at each airline that we merged with and was not unique. US-west is not unique nor is this merger. It may be unique to YOU (old HP) but that is about it. We all played by the rules in the past along with every other airline and you shall too. The information in that dvd was wrong and all who spoke in it were not educating ANYONE with truth. Because US-west wants to change the DOH policy or "enhance, modify" or whatever bs description they come up with does not mean that all the hard work WE at US-east went through in the past gets blown away. We want nothing at US-east other than the seniority we acrued. If we would possibly vote out AFA and voted in another union what voice would US-west have anyway. IF they mess with the DOH policy which I'm sure they won't, no formula will be approved by anyone at US-east. We have always played by the rules and you shall too. WE ARE ALL SPECIAL AND THE MERGER IS NOT UNIQUE ! ! ! !
 
Umm don't the Hp Planes now have a placard near the door that say "America West a DIVISION of USAIRWAYS"? Why spend years making rules If were not gonna live with them.

What is amazing is this is coming up now. I think that is why most US East people are alittle disappointed. Had this been addressed before any merger talks were ever brought up, we would be fine, but to bring it up after the fact is embarrasing. US East people did not complain when we talked of merging with United awhile back. Why did you not try to change this before now. Maybe it was because HP was OK with it, maybe you thought you would hook up with a much junior carrier, I'm not really sure. If any of you care to answer that question, it might put some items to rest. I really look forward to flying with all of you in the future, but I hope this doesn't carry on too long. I was here during the Piedmont/US merger and that was( and sometimes is) a rough time.
 
no I believe most of us didn't realize the damage this could have done to us back then it wasn't being applied to us. I was to focused on having fun and acting like a 21year old. I want it to be all finished with it to and move on. I want us all to be able to work together as a team but as equals. I guess you can thank your fearless leader Mike F. for a lot of the issues with his hotlines of hate. At least our guy Gary wants it to be fair for everyone and takes east points into consideration when talking about issues at hand.

Well then...fair for everyone is DOH. Thats why the AFA has it in the C&B's. So no more discussion. If your guy Gary wants fair for all then DOH is the way.
