The "dvd" From Awa-former

This whole thing is really embarrassing for ALL of the F/As. Everyone is laughing at the West people who are trying to change the policy they always worked under after the fact.

How come it was OK for old USAir, Piedmont, PSA, and Trump Shuttle F/As? The number one F/A is a Trump Shuttle F/A. Do you think the previous number one, from Allegheny or wherever was thrilled? No. Nor were the THOUSANDS who have all merged into what is today US Airways. But they knew whu those protections were there and how it is the most fair for everyone.

Why should these junior F/As be any more special than the THOUSANDS who came before? If they disagreed so strongly with it they could have tried to get AFA to change it years ago (highly unlikely as the much bigger airlines would never hear of it), or decertified AFA and sought different representation.

no I believe most of us didn't realize the damage this could have done to us back then it wasn't being applied to us. I was to focused on having fun and acting like a 21year old. I want it to be all finished with it to and move on. I want us all to be able to work together as a team but as equals. I guess you can thank your fearless leader Mike F. for a lot of the issues with his hotlines of hate. At least our guy Gary wants it to be fair for everyone and takes east points into consideration when talking about issues at hand.

What hotline of hate? Listen kid...and yes I mean 21 year old...kid...I'm double your age and you were 2 when I started flying. If you think fighting for what has been earned is being hateful, you have alot to learn.

Enjoy being 21. When I was hired, I was 23 and cared not where I went and if I were on reserve. You see, that's the problem here. Boys and girls who have 1-7 years and are only in the low to mid 20's think they are entitled to senority only when it suits them. Senority is EARNED, sweet chicky H_P. It becomes ALL you have after awhile. One day YOU will have 20 years and understand, but you can't just pick and choose senority at will. Why not just change the DOH for US West and move all the 1-7 year people above the 20year people? I mean, it's a new day and blah blah blah. See how stupid all that sounds?

I agree that this should have been brought up before the merger was even announced......and I'm an AWA FA!! Our union, and they are great people with some good brains...should have tried for this once the ATA thing fell through and they acknowledged consolidation was coming. I fully support our local union and their current efforts (different leadership than earlier in the year) and will rally by them in this effort. But many of do believe that we should stand by the C&B's as they are...we voted it in. This is not to say that change should not be looked at...this entire industry is evolving right before our eyes, but whatever changes occur will most likely benefit future, small mergers and not so much whats happening today.

Really? We are not asking to pick and choose our seniority at will. We are just asking for what's fair for us here in PHX that's all. I agree this should have been looked at during the possibilty of ATA because it would have happened eventually (merger). no name callin here. Let's keep it civil.

We're coming as soon as we can. Do you know any good realtors in Scottsdale?

I can't wait until the AFA board hears this so we can get it over with. Don't feel bad when it's laughed out. This has been like a broken record. It just keeps skipping and skipping, skipping, skipping... JEEEEEZ ! ! ! ! Nothing special out there as there was nothing special about all of our previous mergers. What was good for all of us in the past will be good for US-west as well. There shall be no harsh feelings towards each other on the line when we eventually work together either. If anyone wants to be disapointed and PO'd direct it towards your union there. They should have thought about changing what they NOW think of as unfair. We have all kinds of (just in case) policies in our contract or whats left of it. I said before and will say again, "because us-west now finds it unfair we at us-east should suffer and give up some seniority".... Not gonna happen. This only took 2 minutes to write but ya know, it feels like it took me 40. whewww. LOL

LOL...

Nothing brings solidarity to a group of merged airline employees like another merger.

Don't worry, at some point we'll merge with Northwest or United and former Airways East and Airways West F/As will be together talking about how thier merger was fair and this latest one better be.

Regardless of the outcome of the hearing...most likely..no change to policy...this merger has been praised and criticized by the "experts". More and more wall street supports this merger, so when this blows over with the FA thing, we should do what we can to make this successful. I love this job and would hate to see it go away or become miserable to work with peers for 4days!

Don't be bashin our youngins! Don't make this an age issue first of all a lot of our juniors are no where near Happy's age. We have a lot of second career or retirees comin back to work. That has nothing to do it my "Sweet Chicky". Seniority is all you have, well PHX is all we we have. None of us will ever agree on this issue ever so we should all just wait and see. For those of you who feel they need to make fun... are you scared?...what do you expect for us to sit around and do nothing? That would make us a weak group. I really don't care for AFA Natl either way. Things need to change we are fighting different battles.

We are not scared but rightfully protecting what we worked for as well under AFA. We also don't expect us-west to sit around and do nothing. What us-west should have done was do something before. We had new hires that were older as well. I'm sure we had f/a's in their second careers in past mergers as well. All of this will be behind us soon.

Again, what should we do sit around? All we want is to protect what is rightfully ours in phoenix what we have earned building America West. I'm just calrifying the average age of our juniors since firstamendment thinks that "this is the problem". Can you tell me that half of you even cared for AFA natioanl prior to this situation? I didn't. Now that it is written as policy in the C&B's all of you are standing by AFA national? Come on which is it? I like o reiterate one of my collegues posts. I stand by our current MEC as apposed to our short term one we had earlier this summer. At least Gary is doing this with honesty and integrity for his group. No one is asking you guys to give up anything.

Now that it is written as a policy? You mean DOH? It's been there for quite some time.... We merged with it with PSA, Piedmont and Trump Shuttle. We got no special formula but DOH and understood it. I understand us-west wants to protect PHX due to it being your ONLY base. Well when we are fully integrated as one carrier no base gets any protections. It shifts from month to month. Can't bump anyone if your senior without an opening. I just feel that union over at us-west should be educating their f/a's with facts. I mean, what was with those charts in that video? Totally off the chart and not correct at all. Pitbull had posted a few posts back. It's a good read. Not to mention the truth.

First of all, I reget NOTHING that I said. All the bad mouthing seems to come from either very junior or very young stews. Secondly, NOTHING is rightfully yours. You are an employee, not an owner. This is an issue of one part of one NOW merged company wanting to be seperated and protected from here till eternity. Sorry, that's not the real world. Yes, I feel badly that anyone gets thrown back. God knows I have many times in the last 19 years, but the whining and crying has left me cynical. You people act as if we are ready to hum in on your territory. That is LAUGABLE at best. Lets's see, paycut after paycut and you think I could even afford to move out west? But the way you guys go on, it makes me want to be spiteful and transfer just to move your butts down. Not to worry, like I said, I can't afford the move.

If you guys want to fence yourself off forever, fine, but you will NEVER move in senority and then I can enjoy more layovers in your protected haven. You see, if you limit yourself to X amount of f/as you cant grow as a base. There will HAVE to be opening thru general attrition, so you will have to let people in.

It is understandable to not have a flushing in a US East f/a's, but this attempt to go back after the game is over shows a bunch of sore loosers. If the combined US wants to address DOH, thats fine, but the way it has been handled has been childish, hence the chicky comments.

BTW, I have nothing against 21 year old f/as. I'm ready for some new young faces. Just know where your place is. AND, there IS life beyond PHX, for God's sake.

Nothing is fair in this industry and you are not entitled to any special favors just because you guys have one base. AND, you DO NOT OWN this company, you are an EMPLOYEE.

As far as name calling, you are a chicky...nothing wrong with that. Infact, I for one look forward to working with some younger f/as in the future, but darling, not to worry, it wouldn't be in PHX if I could tranfer tomorrow. One thing you guys fail to understand is that none of us can afford it.

BTW, there IS life beyond PHX.
