ChockJockey is correct, PREZ broke his "Call a rumor a rumor rule"

And to set the record straight, the people that heard your statement(more than 1)
were average Joe's invited to attend the meet and greet to get to know the people
of the District and the International. For that reason I think their account of what they
heard seems accurate.

On the dynamics of union politics, ChockJockey, you must take into account the past
when looking to the future. You want to make sure you put the right people in place
who can affect our future in negotiations and the security of our jobs. If you don't
attend meetings and understand the process or are unwilling to participate, please
step aside.

Orioleman is telling everyone that there are elections coming up. The best way for a
person to get elected is when no one else knows and no one runs against him/her.
That was the Canale way, and I'm glad that in stations like CLT, it is a thing of the past.

PREZ, you seem to have bad blood with JN and this seems to have struck a nerve. From
what I have been told, he has remained very active with his "elected" position with the
District. Don't let your "position envy" lead you to petty name calling. He was one of
your fellow e-board members. Brothers in arms and all that...

Yes, I did go to IAM and the TWU International knew I went also. I said I never met Canale. Don't like being called out on BS that isn't true. I know a lot of this apparent stuff about me is from JN. Fact. I find it very interesting that supposed Union guys are buying into this crap. Will never support JN because someone who tells everyone he will be an AGC will do anything to get it.

Not rumor about JN bashing me, from credible sources. About the statement people heard, BS, they are wrong because I never gave Roach the west so why would I say that? Look at the LM 2 report. If you guys want to believe BS fine.

PRez,

Unfortunately, this is the problem with online rumors and accusations... the inability to directly confront your accuser and to provide factual proof to the contrary, especially in the nearly impossible attempt to prove a negative. (For example, prove to the board you have not met Boss Canale frequently or prove that you did not say something disparagingly about someone.)

I think your actions in PHX speak for themselves, even if people do not always agree with you. The fact that you have been elected by the members in a very large station against token opposition suggest the union members do not consider you to be a management stooge. Of course, get enough people together and there will always be someone who doesn't care for someone that being human nature.

I agree with ChockJockey, and I understand emotions run deep in the battle between the IAM and former TWU leadership, and that should be behind us now, if not for the combatants' sanity, but for the membership's well-being. Job security and economic uncertainty, while living under the daily threats of management with its inane "Show-Up-for-Work-Even-if-You-are-Knocking-at-Death's-Door-or-You-will-be-Terminated-Sick-Policy," should be enough reason for OUR leadership to demonstrate a unified front instead of petty bickering and back biting which tear at our strengths.

So Prescribes Jester.

Jester,

Agreed, and to set the record straight, I am not against any IAM leader except JN, he's not in it for the members.

P. Rez

The bickering is getting to be a bit too much. Myself, I have let the whole TWU-IAM feud go. I'm now in IAM and I make more money and I will probably have my job outsourced at my station. It is the way it is.

As far as elections go PHX voted for PRez. They obviously wanted him on the GC. If you start a campaign to smear PRez then everyone in PHX will vote for him. It will act as an endorsement. Ever since the beatings at PHL, they have been left with a bad taste in their mouths. That really wasn't a good way to start a relationship. PHX doesn't seek east approval. PHX is all about PHX. When you say union in PHX, it only means PHX. Nothing else matters.

Anyhoo, let's get onto something else as some of this stuff is getting somewhat libelous.

P. Rez
are you naive enough to think that union guys really care about some alleged sellout you did 5 years ago? Who cares? PHX is who knows you and they voted for you so what's the gripe?
If you switched allegiances to the IAM or kept them with the TWU, big freakn deal! I wouldn't stoop down to some hesaid/shesaid fight of yesteryear and then pin my story on some guys ex.
Can you move on and not get so ruffled over some senseless accusation? If you have a problem with JN then take it to him, face to face, there are plenty of conventions. Don't reduce yourself to somebody's ex girlfriend.

Since you have belabored your points, it suggest that what's really at issue is that you may be running for something larger than local. Whoa there, we want our next guy to come from our station [lol]!

This is the process is it? Lobbing self-gratifyingly snide insinuations and accusations at one another? For this I'll more than step aside, I'll jump out a window.

Hopefully, I can change the course of the ugliness and get on another topic.

Packets for displaced employees are due Nov 16; any idea on how many people are taking transfers or have they decided to take a furlough? Where do people mainly want to transfer to? CLT, Florida, PHL, northeast corridor, PHX...?

Rumor from friends around the LAS campfire, are that CLT and PHX are the prime choices, along with secondary picks being DFW, DEN and FLL. Little interest in PHL. Projections looking at around 60% will transfer.

Big unknown being how many open positions which would save those subject to being "junioritized" on the bottom of the full-time list.

So Hears Jester.

Seems a lot of people in LAS are either thinking they'll get CLT or are planning on dropping to PT.

I hope Jester is good with his 60% ratio. That would be a much better percentage
than the 40 transferring out of the 240 affected by the last displacement. The unfortunate part
of the last displacement is that all but 5 or 6 came to CLT and we have welcomed them
to our melting pot. Result... No full time vacancies in CLT. Any transfers to CLT will
be part time and there are only maybe 10 vacancies.

Of the nearly 90 vacancies on the east coast, 80 of them are in PHL and DCA. Although
PHL has had a bad rep' over the years, I think any one would be welcomed by our
PHL brothers.
Here is the predicament, all of the 90 approximate full time vacancies would
have to be filled before an opportunity to displace into a junior station could occur. I hope
everyone with a displacement packet from the 12 affected stations is painfully aware of this
fact before they turn their packets in.

To the group.
I apologize for the mudslinging. I react poorly to self serving pontification. I did state that
my statements were "rumor" as was requested. I will say these "rumors" did originate in
PHX and thought the air needed to be cleared.

What choices were FT given? It seems choices on packages at some stations are different from those given out at other stations.

I thought DFW was one of the stations with some folks being displaced. Was it on the list? It has been in the past.

Full time vacancies are in BDL, BWI, DCA, DEN, EWR, PHL, TPA

The openings are primarily in DCA and PHL with the other stations having one maybe
two openings at each.

Part time vacancies are at ABQ, BDL, BWI, CLT, DCA, EWR, IND, MCI, MIA, MSY, PHL and TPA

You will not get relocation assistance if you transfer to a part time vacancy.
