US Pilots Labor Discussion-8/12 to 8/19--NO PERSONAL REMARKS

I said catfish the other day out of MIA. They never missed a beat. Then I spelled it, quiet, then laughter on the frequency.
This is sooooo pathetic. It's no wonder the rest of the industry has such low opinions of East pilots as a whole. DAL pilots definitely knew the score when they shot down the merger attempt a few years ago.

We pay Seham $100K/month because:

3. Sued us for DFR before we even had a DOH (with restrictions) contract in place
Without your actions, we wouldn’t be paying him even $20K/month.

And you were found GUILTY. As distasteful as it is to you, the West pilots DO have rights...and when a fake union wants to impinge upon those rights...even slightly, they well feel the full force of the West Pilots, via the US legal system, hit back. The sooner you become comfortable with that reality, the better off you'll be IMO.

All with no say, no vote. Herndon never did anything positive for my career in 20 years.

Oh, really? What do you suppose the average pay for pilots would be if there had never been an ALPA? They established the value for the piloting profession and those rates have been the benchmark that virtually all pay scales for jet pilots airline and non-airline alike have been tied to.

The regional payscales were skewed by other types of turboprop flying (mostly non-121) and the perception that it could be an entry-level position. As they morphed into National Airlines with regional payscales, they began to compete and erode the basis for mainline payrates.

So before you go out and bash the folks that set the standard for the pay you used to receive and from which you made concessions to avoid looking for work, go out and look at what a guy flying a piston twin around makes. This was the starting point from which ALPA built the major airline pay scales many generations ago and they are likely what you'd be facing today if it weren't for that evil ol'ALPA.

And they're closer to the rates USAPA seems content with. Still proud?

Most merger? Not really sure. The latest ones are Oslo, Stockholm, Athens, TelAviv, and Birmingham (actually a really good layover city) in Europe. Soon to add Rio and Honolulu into the mix. Maybe Sao Paulo. I don't think we will ever see Peking, as I doubt PHX will ever see Tokyo. Unless international travel yields increase exponentially, PHX won't see any European destinations as it takes two airframes to service each city.
How's that DOH working out for you?

Bradford's letters and passing a DOH list across the table was good enough.

GUILTY!

And please quit calling yourself a union, you guys are far from it.

You are boasting about ATC laughing at you?

Actually, "Catfish" would be a great callsign for a bottom feeding, less evolved, slimy pilot group. Perhaps we can get it changed just for you.

Cactus callsign is stupid.
Let's see...UAL paints 'United' on their a/c....callsign "United"
AAL paints "American" on theirs...callsign "American"
DAL paints "Delta" on its airplanes....callsign "Delta"
Alaska, Frontier, same....
So, LCC paints "US Airways" on its planes and calls itself "Cactus". Reason - None. Stupid - Yes. Confusing - Can be, just ask first responders in NYC.
"Cactus, what the hell is that?"
Another sterling decision from the small minds in Tempe.
Have a great, prickly day.

Latest on the Western front is that east F/O's are now denying West jumpseat request.

Seems they are doing so because we are a "closed shop", and the east jumpseat is being closed to those who are not union members. Also, seems they are repeatedly calling non-members a 4 letter word beginning with S and ending in B in front of passengers, gate agents, F/A's etc...and informing said denied pilot of a certain list being formed with the names of said non-members.

Is this list a formal USAPA thing, or just an underground, backroom movement, trying to prove that certain angry individuals are even less intelligent than previously believed?

Can I get a copy of this list so I can proudly look up my name and verify correct spelling?

You have a very sound arguement, and to a certain extent I agree with you.

LCC should have never painted USAirways on the airplanes, and repainted the ones that already did.

F/O's denying J/S requests? Everyone knows the only person who can approve or deny a J/S request is an overworked and undermotivated gate agent. :D

Please tell me this is true though, as all the furloughees (and maybe even new-hires) need encouragement that their recalls will be coming to replace these "misguided" F/O's.

And they thought the Section 29 guys were going to have it tough!

Actually, I agree! The USAirways name was worn out long ago and the 'merger' would have been a great opportunity to rebrand.
Maybe next merger...
Cheers.

Oh…all these months I thought it was “â€￾. The controllers don’t even seen to notice.

Geez guys, I seem to distinctly remember everyone bashing the west for acting like adolescents. How does this call sign curfluffel promote maturity?
