Well I guess if a lead told you that, they shouldnt have, that is a lead problem and the lead should have told the MGR to do it himself. I mean if someone wasnt told by management that they were Mando'd and they left, they could have a great argument if management chose to discipline that individual. As Far as blanket Mandos go, i dont think they are right either but if you were second shift as I assume due to previous posts their probly wasnt enough staff to cover all who were off, so in mgmnts eyes the easiest is to Mando, even though its not our preferred method. I have been in Mando situations before when they Blanket mando the ramp and then call individuals by seniority to leave. One solution for us all to remember for furture contracts if Mando OT is applied it should be at triple time, then I can guarantee they wont blanket mando!!!!!!!!! look at Article 22 this may help too. I dont read where they CANT blanket mando, not that Im disagreeing with you, I just dont see where they cannot do it.

On another note is it showing Authorized in workbrain yet? If not talk to a Mgr or steward or both at the same time and get it resolved!! Have you asked the Grievance Committee what they are doing to resolve it in the future?

Tally you are correct we should look towards future contract improvement as you know we are working with a contract that was negotiated and implemented under the previous Canale administration. I will tell you this that the recent contract ratification at southwest airlines with our IAM brothers and sister have very good contract language on the topic of Mandatory overtime. Our union was successful in proving to management the use of Blanket Mandatory OT is not cost effective. We have language that pays Double Time to our members when the company pulls the trigger and uses this option. We move into contract talks next year and Im sure this and many other issues will be on the table.
 
We all know that we will merge soon. Most likely with UA. We have been down this road before. It is so important to vote in our District election in June. We need a strong executive board to protect our interest. With mergers, come job loss. Take a good hard look at who we have now, and decide if that is who you trust to protect you. What have the current guys done for us? What have they done for United? Do we want more UA guys on there? Are THEY going to look out for you? Will it be an even playing field? There are guys/gals on United's side that are sharp! They have been around the block and are GOOD at what they do. They will chew US up and spit US out. Most of our guys have VERY little experience doing this. What kind of reputation do our guys have that are up for election? Do they REALLY do anything other than travel and hang out in the break rooms? Sure you might know what they look like, but have they done ANYTHING for us? Sure they talk to their friends on the phone while they are in your break room, play on their laptops, drink and eat. Are you really that impressed they know how to drop the F bomb? Is that what you, or just they, think it takes to earn their paychecks? Are they on their best game? Are they wanting to be re-elected to keep that almost $9,000 a month paycheck, or because they really care about YOU? Do they REALLY KNOW their jobs and your contract? Are they in their current job just because people had such strong anti Canale feelings and not because of who they really are? I'm just not impressed with all of them. For the record I was impressed with all of the last guys. Sure a few good guys got in office, but really, have you seen the other ones? Vote smart this time. YOUR future depends on it. VOTE SMART!

For the first statement in bold. I hope you are not talking about KA. KA is all about keeping that high paying job, and not working for the membership. Thats why she lied to the members about being a customer contact person prior to becoming an AGC, when in fact she was ramp, what is that about? I personally hope her slate goes down in flames because some of the USAirways guys running with her are pathetic. I was lied to, to my face, by JR, a former AGC of canoli's, who BTW was only in it for the money, and not to settle any grievances or fight for the employee's he was supposed to serve. That's just MHO though. Anybody that supported Canoli should be ashamed to even call themselves our union brothers and sisters, on both sides, UA and US.

The current guys for USAirways are worried about the membership, not the pay. Canoli's crew left these guys so backlogged with grievances that it's almost insurmountable to resolve them in a timely manner. That's just on the US side.
All of the current US AGC's are smart, and do not bow down to the company like Canoli and his crew did repeatedly, to the detrement of all Fleet Service Employee's systemwide. So to answer your question, YES, the current AGC's, and the AGC's up for election, on the US side, are absolutely the right guys for the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree vote smart! But who has the time to personally research every candidate? I don't.
I think a good barometer is to see if any prospective candidate won his/her home local. Who knows the candidates better than their home local, right? Then go from there. In our case, FO won with no problem and we support him 100%.
 
Just wondering why PHX and TPA Greivance Chairs didn't attend the GC conference last week .

figured with all the issues PHX was having with there AGC's it would be a good time to get together and iron things out .

I thought it was a mandatory conference , guess I was wrong. Not trying to stir anything up just curious cause that would have been a

great opportunity to get some things accomplished. I know CLT GC was able to work on some things.
