TWU IN PHL

The IAM needs to remove from office or position the animals who started the fight. If they don't, it sends a message that the IAM condones and supports this type of behavior.

Were I in the position to vote, I'd definitely not vote for the IAM based on this reason alone. A union cannot have the respect it needs when people prone to violence are in positions of "leadership". Shame, shame, shame.

delldude,

I certainly hope so. A union needs to have brains. How can we expect them to think their way through contract negotiations if the IAM feels its only recourse is a fist-fight with its fellow workers?

I am ashamed of the IAM.

Yeah. They don't know...they'll look into it...and they'll get back to us with an answer.

Not answering or returning calls, We're looking into it and we get back to you with an answer....this is how the IAM handles almost everything. Be it a minor question or a major incident.
.
I keep telling ya....F/S would be better off without them.
.
IF the guys were in a US uniform, I would suspect they would be in trouble with the company.
.
IF the guys were actually on duty, I would strongly suspect they are in trouble with the company.
.
Either way, I expect the IAM to fight it (no pun intended). They aint real smart, but they are smart enough to realize that this could be a item that breaks the camels back and will turn people towards the TWU. And it should.

Even if they were off duty and not in uniform, they should be fired. Although they were there as IAM reps, they are ALSO USairways reps.

pardon me but did this fight occur while they were on the clock or off the clock--at work or off of work?

Well, since it took place at a hotel, hopefully they were off the clock. Otherwise, they should be fired for leaving the job while on the clock!

Either way, they should be fired for this incident.

If they were on "Union Business" they can be fired for time card fraud, never mind the commission of a criminal act while on duty...

Off the property committing assault? Niiice.

Group attack too? Even better, could become felony assault.Never know with all these anti bias crime laws that have been enacted over the years.

Let's not forget the lawsuits, IAM International, IAM LL and the individual tough guys themselves.

Too bad the "Frightened Machinist" only "Fights" to protect their little powerbase.Do you think for one second ANY of those IAM tough guys give a rats ass about the HP field stations?

They sold their own out for thirty pieces of silver, what do you think they are going to do to outsiders?

Sorry HP, you're all boned.
