Europe flights being cut?

What is the lease status of the 767's? Are any near their return dates?

Do not be surprised if management asks the DOT to delay new China service one more year.

USA320Pilot

HAve you not been paying attention. No one here will be surprised by that. We've all been saying that since LCC decided not to buy airplanes that could ever fly the route profitably.

LCC actually commencing Philadelphia to Beijing service: Now THAT would be a real surprise.

I thought airlines were only given a 1 year deferral/extension to start the new China service. And after that, assuming the service wasn't started by the airline that originally won the route, it would go up for re-bid. (though i'm not sure there would be many takers at the moment due to the global economy)I could be completely wrong on this, though.

As a policy going forward, I would like to suggest that we "change the yardstick" we use to mark events in regards to aircraft and routes. Instead of saying that this route or that aircraft will be here in a year or so, instead say it in relation to a merger attempt. For instance the new China service will begin in a merger attempt or two.
