Well I say send 5 IAM reps to PHX OR LAS RAMP and tell the TWU boys and girls the IAM IS SORRY.
I bet the TWU will give them a warm welcome with all the smiles they got last time. :glare:

AMEN to that brother! Give the thugs a good ole WILD WEST HOWDY. Maybe a cholla or two where the sun don't shine. :D

Does anyone have any information on the "alleged" members involved in the beatings?? How are the TWU members?? Identifications?? Arrests?? Links to articles would be good. Thanks.

The article states they were IAM officials. They were there as representatives of the IAM. I don't know how the law applies to a non-profit organization, but a corporation would be legally at fault due to vicarious liability.

sounds like the IAM is getting desperate whacha think dell and 700

Bob, you really should reconsider damning all the Philly employees. I'll bet you money there is only a few of these "strong arm" employees intimidating the majority in Philly. It doesn't take an army to rule an army...only a few generals and leutinants with big sticks. Operationally it sounds like Philly is doing much better now days with new equipment and renewed hope. Don't let 25 thugs darken your outlook on the rest...they don't deserve that.

PHL is a cancer spot. Even employees say so. Those 25 or 30 thugs must've learned their tactics from someone. Give you ONE guess who. And don't give up on the first guess. IAM generals and lieutenants.

Sounds like Philly needs some cleansing from the cancer there. You don't carve up the whole body to get rid of the cancer...just the cancer and perhaps the surrounding tissue if infected.

True but if the cancer is terminal, no pun intended, you just ride off into the sunset. Research the union history in that part of the country. The IAM has been imbedded with USAirways, or whatever name they have had, since 1949. Plenty of time for cancer to grow and spread. Take a trip and see for yourself.

Well then, just maybe if the IBT or TWU can pull off an election AND win the election...well I'll bet ya money those IAM thugs in Philly will be seeking other employment. Maybe just what the Airways needs to happen to fix Philly? Wonder if the company is reconsidering it's position of support for the IAM?

From the vaunted "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics", page 25:

Respect in the Workplace

The Company is committed to a work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. Each individual has the right to work in a professional atmosphere that promotes equal opportunities... Therefore, the Company will not tolerate discrimination or harassing conduct, either in the workplace or in any other work-related setting...or any other category to the extent protected by applicable law.

Emphasis added.

Eric,

I was and am pissed beyond compare.
I'll forgive them later when I'm done being

HE Double Hockey Sticks I'm Pissed too! But I won't generalize our entire Philly folks with those thugs. That especially includes the hardworking IAM mechanics and baggage folks there too.

Guilt by association?

Gimme a break, if everyone thought like that the ibt members would all be mafia members.

You cant blame 500,000 members for the actions of 25 ignorant people.

WHAT! 25 IAM member/officials/ etc JUMPING 4 TWU reps? GIMME A BREAK!

Your spin control has OFFICIALLY gone too far. Your credibility, what little was left, is OFFICIALLY gone.

IAM reps on UNION BUSINESS LOST it and attacked TWU reps.

If the IAM can't stand the pressure, they should get out . . . of US Airways for good.

Everyone knows the IAM is unprofessional, but to attack 25 to 4! WOW real tough guys.

delldude,

I certainly hope so. A union needs to have brains. How can we expect them to think their way through contract negotiations if the IAM feels its only recourse is a fist-fight with its fellow workers?

I am ashamed of the IAM.

Dea

Now Dell is looking into it. That is so soothing. The US AVAIATION poster has assured us that it is being looked into. Let us know when you get the spin control . . . OUTRAGIOUS!
