Eric - the company has been supporting the IAM they run just shy of getting into legal trouble for doing it - wait and see what the company does with the TWU deal - you will see nothing but talk - support hell they are in bed together

"If you're too drunk to drive, how the hell do you expect to work in a freakin' mill?"
"I just sleep somewhere."
"You won't get fired?"
"No. The union covers up for us."
I remember riding home and thinking, "If I ever get a job at the mill I will be in Heaven."
so then you like going to work zonked is what it seems?

this message board is a joke!!
... These so called thugs in PHL have probably saved all your jobs. Don't think for one minute that the TWU is not using this and the threat of an election to jockey for better jobs and positions with the IAM . Grow up people this is a real fight in the real world and you better understand what is at stake here. 50% +1 of all eligible voters.......You message board regulars better do your homework and check out all the facts or you will be looking for work in the near future.
THANKS PHILLY

What a bone headed comment. I tell you what. Bring all your "boys" down here in CLT and you can try to repeat what you did to the 5 guys in PHL. Of course you can count on a more fair ratio.
You're living proof ignorance is alive and well embedded in PHL.

this message board is a joke!!
The TWU has decided to put 8000 jobs at risk because they are in a no win scenario. They stand to lose nothing by forcing a vote that CAN NOT BE WON!! Decertification is the only result that can come out of this. Pat Rezler and his cronies have no clue of the RLA (railway labor act) and has lead his people and a small handful, and I repeat small handful, of IAM members down a path of destruction. Rezler has been quoted in the paper as stating they don't have the enough cards to file. If the TWU does file it will be with the minimum of signed cards...THAT IS SUICIDE!! Check the records Unions will not file with less than 60-75% or greater. Rezler and his crew cant even get the minimum 35%. It is real easy to sit behind a computer and act like you know what you are talking about but ignorance is bliss. These so called thugs in PHL have probably saved all your jobs. Don't think for one minute that the TWU is not using this and the threat of an election to jockey for better jobs and positions with the IAM . What kind of a Bafoon are you?? Maybe you have had your head in the sand, or somewhere else for that matter, but these Jokers didn't save anyones jobs, except their own.
Does the 20+ outsourced stations ring a Bell??
If you are Thanking PHILLY for anything, you must be there!!

Well sure they are. What company wouldn't want their employees to be under the "Giveaway" IAM contract? If the IAM stays on the property, say goodbye to 3/4 of the former AWA stations FSA jobs.

You hit the nail on the head.

I'm not condoning what happened in PHL, but what were the TWU reps thinking when they came to PHL and didn't have security/police in the room with them. History has shown that FSA in PHL will get angry when their jobs are being threatened or they are about to get screwed. Even Freiberger and the IAM were smart enough to have two Tinicum police officers present at the union hall when they were going to try and shove a crappy contract down their throats after a prior meeting went bad. Everyone heard about the HP Supervisors and the treatment they received after they said/did some stupid things. Have some protection next time you come to PHL.

The TWU is a joke and so are the people on this board pushing it. You have a couple of them saying that you'd be better off with no union than the IAM, they're delusional. I'm no fan of the IAM but they're better than nothing. I don't want to see comparisons between now and 1992 when there wasn't a union, I know what the numbers are. What you have now is better than ZERO, and that's where you'll be without representation.

It'll be interesting to see what the IAM does with the AGC and LL1776 Officer who are rumored to have been the leaders of this group, but left the room before the assault took place. These two guys should never be allowed to hold a union position again. It's a long fall from AGC back to the bellies of A/C.

Anyone involved should be charged and terminated from the company. I don't know how some of these guys could be so stupid.

Hopefully the guys that were assaulted are doing OK.

Wow, union officials being thugs and goons who have to resort to violence?

Amazing, that is as predictable as a sunrise.

And the unions wonder why the rest of the country increasingly opts to go non union.

Buncha no-necks.

Apparently you can't read.

I have stated that the IAM and myself as a person does not condone the stupidity of those individuals who used very poor judgement.

I have also stated that they should be removed from any position they hold within the IAM, they should be terminated from US and prosecuted to the fullest extent.

I support the IAM, not a rouge band of hooligans who did a very stupid act.

Anyhow they are fleet service members of district 141, not mechanic and related who are in district 142.

I have only met one of those people invovled in passing at CCY during bankruptcy negotiations.

Don't put words into my posts that don't exist.

Police were looking at hotel videotapes and trying to determine whether the attackers were from the International Association of Machinists, which represents US Airways baggage handlers in Philadelphia.
The unions are competing over which will represent all 6,600 baggage handlers at US Airways, which merged last year with America West Airlines.

"The IAM is investigating the reported incident and is determined to uncover all the facts," said Joseph Tiberi, spokesman for the machinists' union

So being from the Viet Nam era I tend to take the "Shoot them all, let God sort'em out" approach. It's easier to get rid of all of them if you can't figure out who the 25 are.

I tend to take the "Shoot them all, let God sort'em out" approach?

Now there is a term that is purely offensive used in any sense. You condemn in your postings regarding this issue then use a slogan that is just as condemnable to describe your position.

As a Veteran you know the term is meant as a justification for killing - anyone & everyone - anything that lives and breathes.

Sort of puts you on the same level as the very thugs you directed your comment to.

Give me a break. Piney is upset over the fact that this situation has given all unions a bad name and everything for which they stand is diminished. He(and Bob correct me if I am wrong) would just like to see those who were involved brought to justice. And by the way, Bob, thank you for your service to this great country of ours!

And I (USMC Vet) am upset that he would use an analogy that means, I don't judge em' I just shoot em all and when they are dead, God can pass judgement on the guilty and the innocent, well they are just as shot and or dead, so God can figure that out as well.

It means F em' all is what it means.

So the "give me a break" should apply accross the board, shouldn't it?

Thanks to all who serve.
