pj and others...........
First off I'm not pointing at Bush as an individual but as the leader of an anti union
party. Randy, along with us, have had to endure 8 years of a goverment leaning to seperate
the middle class and the upper class. Although we have slipped, we have reasons, one of them
is not Randy. Surely you ,yourself, can't blame an individual (ie. Bush or Randy) but blame the
party not the person. Randy has fought admirably from day one. This ''new direction'' could go
negative. Change horses' not in the middle of a race....wait, patiently and we will see the true
leaders.
*seek the truth*
Canale's the old horse that has two broken legs. I still can't believe District Force telling us to 'kiss the pinky' of Al and the company so we can fight 5 years from now. And this whole idea about 'sidebar' negotiations is pathetic. First, Canale speaks for himself down in LAS without speaking to the negotiations team, now these sidebars. What the hell? No wonder why Canale got deals with management, we had mindless bobblehead$ on the negotiations team. THe newbies know better though. If the horse bows down after the starting gate opens, then yes, you may as well change horses. Randy has bowed down since he took control. Ken Theide was slightly better. Only slighty I say as he really allowed a lot of our problem children into the "leadership" roles of the IAM. Unfortunately, Canoli did not get rid of those uneffective people, he added more.
And since you do not like to change horses in mid race, can I assume you will be voting for the Republican nominee John McCain? He will keep us down and keep us in Iraq.
h34r:
I was glad to see he went back to work yesterday. We have our disagreements but he's on the negotiations team and that is 'sacred ground' as far as I'm concerned. We must have the backs of our negotiators if the company dispatches one. A foul against them would be a foul against all.Sorry for not keeping you all up to date concerning PHX on goings , but lith is also a reliable PHX source and I‘m sure tim has his own people here . I can’t say how frequently you’ll be hearing from me in the future . I’ve been reading through the current IAM thread and the last one that was closed .As for what I’ve been told, Ron Roth was indeed suspended for a week for publishing a new “safety doctrine “ in the union bulletin boards that was set to take effect the day after the super bowl . I recall reading it and it struck me as very rational , you know drive the speed limits , work safe , etc … As to if he’s been reinstated with back pay and what not , I don’t know .I did hear the union had his back because everything in the safety message is also written in the GOM , so it was simply a reminder of company policy to all workers ..
To Tim Nelson and PJ and all others,
Whether your in agreement with me or not, I read your posts and think now read mine and think.
Sometimes you have to make a deal with the devil, and that deal saved thousands of jobs and will position the members through airline consolidation. The alternative is to keep fighting the company and then everyone will be out of a job. District force may be right, see you all at wall mart if you want to shut things down at the negotiations table with the company. Your company needs a transition agreement and how many times do we have to keep saying this? Stop holding your company hostage because of renegade internet posters that put their political agenda ahead of your families. Sacrifice the 60 day rule and add on another 2 years of the contract because there is NO WAY Hemenway will allow anything other. Take what is offered and live to fight another day. There will only be 3 airlines by next year and all IAM members should be in better position to start making demands.
