AFA sends out the ballots to poll the West on if they wish to take Lisa/Jeff out of office. If they don't the West are morons.

Just remember that the AFA Hearing Board also had problems with MF, hinting that he should have made an effort to resolve his issues instead of filing charges.

Isn't this the same MF that Teddy once had problems with also?

Why am I asking? Because of the situational statement that the West folks may be morons.

Nope, the aren't recalled yet. I guess there is a meeting that has to be held. A vote is taken at that meeting about whether to send out ballots. If the vote passes ballots go out to everyone to vote. Not sure how much longer all this will take to play out. A couple more months?

Not sure what old Mike Flores has to do with this. He's not part of the west council and has no say as far as I know since we aren't one work group.

Arguably the reason the recall got off the ground was the charges and proceedings before the AFA Hearing Board.

you are right. That didn't bug me so much as the way the treat each other and the fighting back and forth. Yep, Mike did file the charges, and they were found guilty of stealing. I don't have vote in this, but I can already see how that MEC is going to blame all their drama on him, but he didn't force them to lie, steal and treat each other like crap. There is still no active vp. Those three are a mess I tell ya.

How many of you are furloughed? How long have you been furloughed? I would check with AFA-CWA International office, you may be eligible for one of those ballots. I am not sure, but I would find out because you certainly wouldn't want a couple of hundred people to NOT get a ballot IF they were eligible to vote. Even worse get the ballot and throw it away because they think they cannot vote. Not going to hurt to find out.

Of course they are going to blame anyone and everyone but themselves. First off if they were any type of good organized labor leaders, they would of NEVER done what they did. They placed our negotiations in jeaporady as well as another unions negotiations and then stood there and lied to the faces of the members that pay their salaries. HELLO wake up people. I for one do not trust them, I do not want them negotiating a contract that will affect the next several years of my life. I am not making accusations but if I were a member of Council 66, I'd want to know what else they may be lying about. Open up those budget books, expense records, flight pay loss the list goes on and on.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with that, just merely stating what was, IMO, the seeming cause of what actually got the recall effort into high gear and the fact that even the AFA Hearing Board clearly thought that the case should have been resolved prior to charges having been filed.

The only way your leaders will be held accountable is if YOU hold them accountable. So get up off your dead arses and do so forthwith.

I've been saying that in another thread and it is true here also. Be active in your union and hold the leaders accountable.

Holding the union "leaders" accountable is a must. It's a shame that the majority of flight attendants always seem to have something else do to. People will piss and moan about daily issues but won't hold their union accountable. YOU as a flight attendant ARE your union. Ya don't like what you see? Well band together, take action and make the union what YOU want it to be. They are employed by YOU. Trust me when I tell you, "they count on your doing NOTHING". :down:

See a pattern? Yep, sure do. It's the flight attendants that are responsible for who's in office. If they don't like the union sitting around and allowing the company to violate the contract REMOVE THEM. Recall them for a lack of representation and regain control of the union. It's a circus right now at best.

Still have to get more than 20% active in the union, or better yet to vote on an CONTRACT (that everyone you talk to VOTED AGAINST)...... yet still passed overwhelmingly.

Wonder if that is the same 20% that going to uphold the contract when the F/As split from the pilots? Or the 80% that complain about issues but never get involved?

Will it be Lisa, Dorene, Jeff, or Tim? Will it be Lisa and Jeff? Tim and Dorene? Or will it be all of the above?

Have your voice heard on October 16th at the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel @ 2pm. This is the next step to ending the madness at Council 66.​
