What's new

Winter 2007/2008 Route/Schedule Changes

Regarding ORD and LHR routes. Yes 66 is oerating as a 767 from 10-28 to 1-31, but it is operating during the winter. We usually go down to 4 flights a day for the winter. We are going to have 5 a day for part of the winter this year. 66 is operating thurs, fri, sat and resumes to daily service 3-2-08. So yes it is a 767, but it is additional winter service. Regarding EZE, they are still hopefull that we will start it. The new target is 12-13. DUB is operating 5 days a week in the winter. Also we were told that all 777's will have the Flagship suite by 12-13.

I believe you mean the 767's. They have only one 777 with new business class seats and they want a few months to work most of the bugs out before installing on others.

I wrote what I meant. I said the 777's will have the Flagship suites by 12-13 according to AA. Don't forget that the Flagship suite is the F/C seat, not B/C.

That's the plan. I'm pretty sure installation will be speeding up in the fall thanks to a slightly reduced 763 schedule.

On a side note, I got to try out the new seats for the first time this past Friday. It took for a complete surprise, because they substituted a 763 for a 757 on the 945AM Miami-LaGuardia flight this past Friday (this is the second time in a row I took this exact flight, and have had it subbed with a 763). A huge improvement over the previous product.

Mark.

I'm a bit confused.
Are you saying that you rode a 763 "into LGA" ???

NH/BB's

I looked on Sabre and couldn't find this aircraft switch. What was the date?

My bad regarding the comment on the business class seats.

But 12/13 would be EXTREMELY overgenerous of a date for completion of the Suites upgrades. They won't even begin a second conversion until September, with 20+ to do it will probably be well beyond December to complete.

How many MBV's in progress between now and then, including anything inducting on or around 12/13?

Subtract that from the 20+ and it might be realistic.

as of the first of august - approximately:

20 777's need the suites and new biz seats
26 777's need just the new biz seats
130ish s80's need galley mod and 4 more coach seats
90ish 757s still need winglets
120 757s are to get upgraded first class seats and 2 additional seats for a total of 24 in first
20 767's still need new biz class
10 737's still need winglets
none of the 767-200's have started their first class upgrade

That's what he said... I've done it as well a couple times. Common crew rating on the 757/767 makes that really easy when volume dictates.

And here(all along), I'm was under the (mistaken) thought that "single aisle" A/C ONLY were allowed into LGA.

It is not uncommon for 757 flights from MIA to be swapped out with the 767-300. I have worked those flights several times. Even an A300 once. I know DL used to fly several 767's and even L1011's back in the day out of LGA. A quick search on airliners.net or jetphotos.net you will find widebodies by almost all the legacy airlines back in the 70's and 80's.

We flew 1011s in and out of LGA. Always gave you "pause" on takeoff, especially after others had gone into the water... Our flights 4 and 5 even provided teeshirts stating, "I survived flt 4 and 5". The New York crews didn't blink an eye but when the STL or MCI crews had to fly the trip, the teeshirts appeared. (that was due to pax makeup, not aircraft type)

I flew literally hundreds of L-1011 flights between LGA and places in Flordia mainly Palm Beach (PBI). It was a bit tight at times, ILS in low vis to Runway 13, but otherwise just fine.
