US Pilots Labor Discussion

Solidarity is an interesting word. According to the general definition it is a "union or fellowship arising from common responsibilities and interests, as between members of a group or between classes, peoples, etc."

While solidarity is an important word, it is preceeded alphabetally by HONOR, INTEGRITY and RESPONSIBILIY. The reason that the East US Air pilots do not have our support for a new contract (as negotiated by our completely inexperienced NAC....."What can we give the company today??"), is because you have FAILED to recognize the result of a final & binding merger process (not tu mentions that they are GIVING AWAY THE FARM!).

You will eventually be force fed that seniority list legally, AND you all will have lost MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars and TIME OFF that will NEVER be recovered.

I do know the words of Solidarity Forever". Do you know the word of Proverbs 10:9?

If you are a LURKER here and a MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING, here is your chance to help make our union a REAL UNION. Please visit www.reformUSAPA.com Please read the opening statements and look up the ammendments that we seek to carry to a vote. Make your voice be heard! Thank you.

I didn't see a lot of Bible thumping when I watched the PHX Crew News. Especially interesting was the part about the US Airways pilots being the scourge of the industry even before all this happened and the clapping and shouts of praise that followed.

That brand of "Integrety" you can KEEP...

Which one of the pilots in the latest crew room news were you?

Which "Federal law" that you speak of applies to intra-union policies and procedures?

Here is the quote you speak of:

Question #1: What is the legal effect of the statements "We need not decide" and "We leave aside the merit of this contention beyond noting..." ?

Question #2: What did Judge Posner mean when he said: "...an attempt by a majority of the employees in a collective bargaining unit to gang up against a minority of employees in the fashion apparently envisaged by the plaintiffs could itself be thought a violation of the duty of fair representation by the union that the majority used as its tool." or in the alternative, what was ...."(Hint: the answer is highlighted in bold)

I'm going to Rio tonite and won't be back until Sunday, so I don't think I'll be able to respond until Monday. But I'll be looking for your response while I'm there. You may need Nexis/Lexis or WestLaw, because I don't remember if you can google it. Give it a try....

Good luck.
I can see no useful answers were given to my questions while I was absent.

You were the scourge of the industry then and you are now. People of integrity always acknowledge the truth.

We were the scourge? We were the scourge? For decades America West was considered America Worst, for many reasons. Your contract was the target for every major airline manager. Did you catch the crew news where Doug said America West got by with their weak route structure purely on the low employee wages and very strict cost controls? And............that when the other major airlines got their costs DOWN to yours it was the DEATH KNELL for America West?

The ignorance and arrogance(and loud) of SOME former America West pilots astounds me. With that in mind I am sure you are proud of the performance of you brothers, and one really looney sister, at that last PHX crew news.

You wouldn't know integrity if it hit you in the head.

It's not always about the money. Time off and quality of life are much more important. (they also play into allowing you to acquire real wealth if you are so inclined). Many, including myself, chose to come to AWA - to a growing company with an enviable culture and work environment. I, being from the east, would not even consider applying to US Air because I knew better. America west was thriving and growing until this train wreck of a "merger".

Yes, I am arrogant, I will admit that. I am proud of my co-workers for being the professionals they are. Those in the crew news are especially sharp. Mitch will soon make an excellent attorney. Suzie is one of the sharpest pilots you could find. Gary (the guy in the raincoat) has published three pretty good books on aviation.

I know integrity quite well. I am surrounded by those with a good dose of it every day. I don't think that I could say the same for you.

Workplace harassment laws were violated in this video numerous times. It is the company's responsibility to take care of this situation or be held liable.
What is it that you guys tell us?????

Oh yeah. Internal union dispute.

Freedom of speech covered by LMRDA and the US Constitution.

Some people confuse courage with being stupid.

What would happen if every blockholder SAPed down to the minimum and did not answer POTA calls?

The company could not fly the schedule and it's perfectly legal.

I't won't happen because guys like you won't put their money where their mouth is.

give me a break,
You don't know my monthly bid / fly..
and on top of that I'm on the 75 hour option....
