US Pilots Labor Discussion

I just got the following message from Maestro:

"NGS 2 Distance Learning Module is due on May 25th. PLZ complete if you have not done so. There are 862 incompletes!!!"

Why would I get this message? I already completed mine. It's the 9th and they seem a bit stressed out.

I wonder why?

Hmmm....

actually it's not due until the 31st.. unless you have a trip on the 1st and then it must be completed by 3 days prior.

Which can't be separated from the merger. Everyone has their opinion of what would have happened to each side without a merger, but nobody can offer proof of what would have happened without a merger. The merger has been good for the East, of that there is no doubt - all the furloughee back, new hires, upward movement. The merger has been bad for the West, again with no doubt - furloughs, backward movement. So Nic was right - the East stood to gain the most. Nic awarded relative position by equip/seat to offset the huge gain the East would have. Yet that's not enough for the East - they want all the marbles. East and West attrition. East and West captain jobs. And West to bear any furloughs.

even you should know that this business is cyclical... Furloughs would of been back even without the merger... furloughees were out about 5 years...
and with the retirements furloughee's would be captains with EAST attrition.

Like I said, in the top 400 but I strongly support DOH and our junoirs guys, sorry never crossed a picket line like the "real" scabs you have at your airline, I can't believe your group would be stupid enought to send out another mailer!!!! You guys have to be the dumbest bunch of pilots in the industry, poor Dougie.

Thank You Luv..... Appreciate it.!

Dude you are way wrong...
I was part of the shuttle merger and the ratio's were much tighter...and the shuttle had furloughed pilots as well and he didn't put them all at the bottom..

The Shuttle merger was basically slotting by equipment and status, just like the others.

Were all the Flight Engineers put at the bottom of the list?

They really want this done early I guess. I never got a message saying X number still had not completed the module.

Especially this far from the due date.

I'm frustrated with you for HOW you go about doing things.

I'm frustrated going to work for $85 an hour, being flexed 5 and 10 hours every month, and getting 21 days vacation because East pilots think they're going to rewrite a mutually agreed upon arbitration.

I have no patience for them and no respect.

Excuse me for not being polite.

That is more of your arrogant, think you know it all, DOH hurt me and my brother in 1989 b.s.

The guys that run this thing say this the west pilots are in MUCH better shape with the merger than without. Death Knell, Remember that? The thing is that both groups have had some pain. The east mostly pre-merger, west post-merger, but in most people's opinion they are better off than they would have been absent this merger.

Both airlines were on the road to oblivion, it doesn't matter who would have gotten there first because a US failure would not have saved AWA-they didn't have the money to benefit from it, or to survive the downturn.

BOTH airlines needed this merger.
Well if the guys that are running this thing (selfish interest) say it it must be true. To bad a neutral third party does not agree.

I think this just about says all that needs to be said. PRE merger the east was feeling pain. POST merger the west has had the pain. Tell me how does it feel to shift your crap to someone else? Why should a merger cause the west pain and the east to gain?

In whose opinion would we be better off with the merger. How about you tell the west what we have gotten out of this merger? what benefit? You just admitted you got something how about us?

Well look what we have here, another scab, fabricating lies to justify his desire to steal another's job.
You are obviously sliding Nic. Your scab comments are lies, and you continue to throw the lies again and again. You are starting to lose it.

The east is smaller now than it was on May 19, 2005. That's a fact. Both sides of this thing have shrunk. It's true that the east has received more hulls than the west, but we lost more too. I've shown you that over and over again and no one has published numbers to refute it, just run their mouths. The main difference is that the east attrition offset our hull losses. We are both near min fleet, with the east gaining a little from the EMB's, and I mean a little. THOSE ARE FACTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who says? Doug Parker, Scott Kirby would be the two that are easy to quote.

You have become as sad as Ames, prechilli, otter, metroyet and fodase. When you can't counter the claim you have resorted to the "scab" bomb, even though you know 99.999% of the east are not scabs.

Yet when we flew together you had done nothing about it but whine. A non-member and faced with a S29 letter. I really don't have any sympathy for those that choose to sit on the side and throw stones.

No the FE's were not put at the bottom of the list... NIC did discount there value as the 727's were going away but they were not put at the bottom of the list but rather slotted on a reasonable basis.. Unlike the slotting on NIC 2

I'm doing more to get a contract than the majority of East pilots.

What would happen if every East pilot SAPed down to the monthly minimum and did not answer any POTA calls?

The company would start cancelling trips and we'd have a contract a short time later.

I've been doing that for 3 years and it's perfectly legal.

It'll never happen because the majority of East pilots won't put the money where their mouth is.
