Your thoughts please, gentlemen.

1. nic4us,
2. aquagreen73s,
3. exB717Flyer,
4. traderjake

so which is it sumanderson?

Were the West pilots promised damages to recoupe their money, or as the PROOF you provided in you link shows, they were told upfront no guarantees of any type of refunds.

Also, while you are replying, please be so kind to refute the accusations that you are a '99 hire who was deeeep into the furloughed ranks at the time of the merger. A simple statement of your current position and how long you have been in that position will suffice for me. For example, I have said since I started posting here that I am a lineholding A320 captain in PHX.

It used to bother me when east posters would use the lottery ticket analogy, now it just bothers me that east posters are so clueless that they would use the lottery ticket analogy.

Let me ask a very straighforwad question. Why does usapa have to fight the company?

First of all....the company is the only enitity profiting from this quagmire. Second, USAPA is at a disadvantage in showing that they truely want to represent all of the USAirways pilots. ( a tough row to hoe, if not impossible)

Breeze seems to be another Bi-Polar eastie who wants to be your buddy - on his terms alone! He'll meet you halfway (to the halfway point of halfway, of course)

Luvn,

I won't get an answere to my question, or I should say I certainly won't get the correct answere to my question, not from a usapa supporter.

I intended the question for any east posters, but perhaps answeres from West supporters might enlighten them. So, I want to make it clear that the question is for anybody to answere, not just MrBreeze.

My ex-wife is bi-polar....believe me, I know bi-polar.

I have not mentioned anything about meeting my terms.....the courts will decide that. I have been talking about pressure on management only. You guys can help keep the pot boiling.

When Piedmont merged with USAir, the pilots at Piedmont were given a 10% raise to bring them onboard with the USAir crews. Did AWA management do that...hell no. their game plan is to play us against each other as long as possible. this is not Southwest Airlines.

btw, luvin......callin me bi-polar after living with a bi-polar #### for 16 yrs is quite the insult.

UPS is profitting, and their pilots are paid very well. Southwest is profitting, and their pilots are also paid well. More in line to our situation, Delta makes a profit some years, and loses in others, yet their pilots are paid better than us and their flight attendants have stopped the AFA numerous times from even getting on the property (obviously, the Delta F/A are not about to fight the company).

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say usapa truely wishes to represent all Airways pilots, but they just have a funny way of showing it by wanting all the east pilots they represent to be senior to the West pilots they represent.

So now, why does usapa have to "fight" the company? It is not a trick question. Why can't usapa just get a deal done? Is it usapa's fault? Is it the company's fault? Why does everything usapa involve a lawsuit?

Breeze,

I just posted that usapa has a funny way of representing all Airways pilots by wanting the east pilots to be senior to the West pilots.

I would bet a pretty large sum that every east pilot reading that said to themselves, "thats because we are!!!"

You see, I understand your position. I also understand the company's position.

The reason usapa has to "fight" is because it is incapable of understanding any position other than its own.

Your damn right this ain't Southwest. The first order of bussiness there is the company's position.

Ok, Nic,

First of all, I don't think that drawing a hard line and having DOH in the union constitution is a good idea.....there has to be room for negeotiations. Much of that consitution was derived from a failure of ALPA. I also believe that you west pilots have to be able to find some kind of neutral ground, even though a lot of you believe that NIC is neutral.....it isn't....IMO.

USAPA is the elected union for the pilots, therefore, they have to fight for their rights under the RLA. USAPA can't get a deal done because the company is dragging it's feet, relying on the seniority issue to delay a new contract.....which lines the pockets of management. Just look at their bonus contract. It is designed to give management huge bounses for good operational numbers...but more importantly, "TO KEEP THE OPERATING COSTS DOWN!" They don't give a #### about you and me and how professional we are or how well we do our jobs....it's all about them.

As long as we keep fighting each other, the company has the advantage of operating as if there is no union at all.

That's easy. They need a Boogeyman from which to protect you. They are the ones to characterize the boogeyman du jour (management, Leonidas, ALPA, Nicolau, blacks, whites , chicanoes, the LDS Church, the Black Panthers, The New Black Panthers, opponents of the Black Panthers, Al Queda, Embry-Riddle grads, those who are covering up John Belushi's faked death, Zoroastrians, your local Ford dealer, String Bean from Hee Haw, Morris Day, the Time, Steven Bradford, Buddy Holly , Ben Hur, Space Monkeys, Mafia, and the little 4-year-old girl who colored a picture of the airplane that flew her to Orlando and signed it "Thank you for flying me to Mickey's house").

Without a villain, they can't be the hero, regardless of how miserably they are failing.

They love to fight, they could care less about winning on your behalf.

Yeah, sure....just keep trying to be the boogeyman......fuks everyone else!

Try to prove that statement without resorting to anecdotal testimony from airline pilots begging a ride on a jumpseat (because that bull feces can be matched one-for-one with jumpseaters begging for rides on east metal.)

Show your work.

I'll answer the question, NYC.

I don't hold hostages on the jumpseat. They are free to speak as they wish above 10K. From what I have heard they are not too impressed with airways pilots trying cheat binding arbitration. The airline pilots I have talked with feel sorry that we got stuck with such a dysfunctional group of airways pilots.

So you're stuck with us....and btw, we are stuck with you guys...Now what?

Agreed, we are both stuck, East and West. It did not have to be that way but one side decided to walk away and form an exclusive club. That is, to exclude a third of the pilot group from true representation. Instead, our bargaining agent may well be in bed with the company to hammer dues paying pilots.

I guess the courts will have to figure a way out of out this three-way mess.
