CHARLOTTE VICTORY NEWS(the newsletter from LL1725) PRINTS ARTICLE WITH FALSE INFORMATION.

The article is entitled "Did your bank tell you about atm withdrawals ?"
I'm not going to post the article but it's the reprint of an email that has gone around for awhile telling you that if you are ever forced to withdraw money from the atm to enter your pin number in reverse & this will notify the police.

Let me tell you thus is FALSE & I can not believe it was not verified before printing. When this email first came out I verified it was false by checking snopes.com then I called one of my buddies at CMPD who also told me that this is false & will get some one killed.

I do know the editor of the paper has been notified & I can only hope they will print a retraction on this. I would really hate some one to believe this & have it go bad on them if faced with this situation.

PS, you can also google this & verify through other sites that the info printed is false.

don't mind the sups .. their doing the best job they can ... i get the feeling that alot or some of them are afraid of job cuts and i can't blame them ... i really feel for people not in a union because when your in a union you KNOW who's getting booted first ...

Well a few weeks ago there was one sup that was walking the gates for no other reason than to write ESON's, and he made it obvious that this was exactly what he was doing. If you know who I'm talking about then it's no surprise.

Like any place, PHX has good managers and bad managers. There are a handful for which I have zero respect and regard and little patience for; these people spend more time and effort trying to look and sound managerial than they do trying to be effective problem solvers. There are also some very good managers that I do have a lot of respect for because they're realistic and understand the give-and-take nature of the relationship; that is to say, they try to work with us rather than above us. The remainder I think do a pretty good job, but nobody's perfect.

One thing I have to say about having labor protection is that I think one has a lot more freedom in terms of talking to management and not having to fear retribution. There have been a few times where I was quite fed up and brought issues straight to a manager in a fashion and attitude that would have likely cost me my job had I tried things similar in my past occupations. It's nice being able to give honest feedback, and ruffle some feathers if the feathers need ruffling...

Who are the managers that try to work above us, Jockey?

The third reich: Mike Johnson, Chris Knoll, and Lloyd? :)

Ive got good photos of Mike Johnson walking around the ramp on his cell phone.

MJ always had zero respect for the union and the workers. He was hired as management believed he would run things on the ramp like he ran things in the Army. You will do it because I told you to. He was really good with intimidation and was always threatening to have someone fired. How he has managed to keep his job is beyond me.

Especially now with the lack of glow worms that don't know any better he's had to be a lot more conciliatory. Most of the people that have worked on his ramps know his schtick by now and I think he's mellowed out somewhat, and I think this is also due to the fact that now he might be more worried about keeping his own job than scaring others into feeling they might lose theirs.

Harry ,
Thanks for the correction. word needs to get spread to the ramp. Good job

I know that last saturday at my city 8 people got esons from one moron supervisor In fact as I understand it it doesnt go on record or anything like that I think its just a waste of time for them to write up esons or as I call it trash

Once again CLT management refuses to honor our contract. Friday night all of the part timers were put on mandatory overtime in violation of our contract. Clt management refuses to determine the needed staffing & go by seniority.

I hope our guys & stewards are all over this. They do this crap EVERY TIME.

as bad and sucks as it is shoot they pretty well stripped out night shifts of OT but they dont have a problem giving ot for dayshift which already has a zillion folks to begin with whereas night shift well we r lucky to have what we have and when we get 3 planes at one time which is a weekly thing then 2 of them wait til we are able to get them parked. Side note, we have a secretary, who thinks she is a manager, warn myself and a few others we wont get the 5 min ot from last tues so when she told me I reacted by telling her I will see what the union says about that and if it happens again then come 1230am when we are off we go home simple as that. then the next day I noticed i have that 5 min ot in my work brain but I dont trust the mgmt there anyway

Does anyone know what the time space has to be between parttime shifts? Pre merger it was a two hour gap between the ending of a parttime shift and the start of another parttime shift. Is this what it is now, or has it changed?

I believe we've been using 1 hour in Vegas. If that's wrong, say so. I know there are stewards and chairpersons that read this forum.

With the iam, and even before the iam it was always 2 hours. Since the merger, the company has been using 1/2, 1, 1 1/2, or 2 hour gaps, depending on the city. This infraction allows the company to schedule p/t where f/t should be utilized. A p/t that has an 0500-1000 schedule, and one that has an 1100-1500 schedule is actually a f/t schedule and should be worked by a f/t. That is why there was always a 2 hour gap between p/t shifts. That is how they keep p/t from becoming f/t. And in doing so they don't have to give benefits.
