Higher visibility, such as through vests, SHOULD work, but it doesn't. Look around. People wear vests on the ramp and still get hit by bag tugs and caterers (and yes it HAS happened). Midairs still happen even with flashing beacons and strobes. Police still get hit when they have someone pulled over on the side of the road, people don't see school busses with the flashign red lights and pop out stop signs... Vests only work when people are looking. Of course if people were looking you wouldn't need vests...

28L_or_10R? is now known as 23L_or_5R?

A reduction in mainline flights resulted in a transfer to an all-east station with good people. They have embraced this westie and I am blessed.

Let's just hope corporate doesn't slash mainline flights here resulting in another irritable bowel inducing transfer.

Nice job loading that flight the other day. That mail was stacked perfectly, and the bags were easy to get to the appropriate runners! Mad props for you:

At my former station, managers were writing ESONs as they were given a quota by the station manager. 3 ESONs a day from each shift manager or suffer at performance appraisal time. Of course, one shift manager had nary a fleeting familiarity of the GOM, so she just made it up as she went along. When she wrote me up for something bogus (I disproved her by printing out several pages of the GOM and she rendered her Supreme Court decision that she translated it to mean something different... ), I pointed out that she was not wearing hearing protection on the ramp. She can't hear with hearing protection on, she says...!

don't mind the sups .. their doing the best job they can ... i get the feeling that alot or some of them are afraid of job cuts and i can't blame them ... i really feel for people not in a union because when your in a union you KNOW who's getting booted first ...
