TOMMORROW WE BEGIN!

The price of oil did spike under Bush and he put policies inplace to bring it down and it came down as fast as it went up.
The price of gas was $1.90 per gallon when Barry took office, you do the math.

Can we please get back to the topic of ridding ourselves of the TWU?

Bob, our financial system has never been more regulated than it is now under Obama, so much for that thesis.

Really? So you are saying that we have more reforms on the Financial system than we did in the 70s?
Could you elaborate? Do you have anything to support that other than you head it from Rush or Hannity?

How bout we drill in Alaska and offshore and build the pipeline, all of these are being blocked by Obama.

We've been drilling in Alaska for years, offshore as well. I have to laugh when I hear people say we need to drill offshore then say they dont want windmills offshore.

And that natural gas you love at such a low price is largely due to all the drilling certificates awarded during Bush's term. Obama wants to shut down all the cracking that is lowering the natural gas price.

Shut it down or make sure its done safely? I enjoy the low price but people should not have to live with this;

Guess you never heard of Dodd/Frank, google it.

We are not drilling in ANWR where there may be one of the largest reserves ever.

So which is it, should drill for the natural gas or not ?

If we don't keep trying perfect the process it will never happen.

We could go back to wood burning stoves and horse and buggy If you like.
Wasn't much of an airline industry in those days though.

Most agree that the run up in oil prices was due to speculation and not demand, this is the result of an unregulated financial system.

Bob, let's examine that "unregulated financial system" and some of who benefited from it and most interesting, where are they now!

Where are Jim, Tim, and Franklin now?

Here's a quick look into the three former Fannie Mae executives who
brought down Wall Street.

... Franklin Raines - was a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fannie
Mae. Raines was forced to retire from his position with Fannie Mae when
auditing discovered severe irregularities Raines left with a "golden parachute valued at $240 Million
in benefits.

Tim Howard - was the Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae. Howard "was a strong internal proponent of using accounting strategies that would ensure a "stable pattern of earnings" at Fannie. Raines and
Howard resigned under pressure in late 2004. Howard's Golden Parachutewas estimated at $20 Million!

Jim Johnson - A former executive at Lehman Brothers and who was later forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO. Johnson is currently under investigation for taking illegal loans from Countrywide while serving as CEO of Fannie Mae. Johnson's Golden Parachute was estimated at $28 Million.
****************************************************************************
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

FRANKLIN RAINES?
Raines works for the Obama Campaign as his Chief Economic Advisor.

TIM HOWARD?
Howard is a Chief Economic Advisor to Obama under Franklin Raines.

JIM JOHNSON?
Johnson was hired as a Senior Obama Finance Advisor and was selected to run Obama's Vice Presidential Search Committee.

I would like some discussion over whether we need political representation, such as the AFL-CIO?

my parents were teamsters for their whole careers. and i was a teamster at some other jobs i had before i went to work for twa/iam and aa/twu. and i would love to go back to being a teamster. hell i would rather go back to the iam or even non union than with the twu. both my parents are retired now and making more money on their pensions than they did while working. plus i dont remember my parents ever paying a co-pay never paying anything on my glasses and contacts. and not a penny on my braces. they had some of the best benefits you could ask for.
