What's new

Summer 2007 timetable changes

LAS

-loses DFW redeye
-loses 1 STL
-goes from half 757 and half MD-80's to only 4 757's and the rest 80's

GO figure  .

Those flights are always full, but the yield is marginal at best. Maw and Paw and the chillern only go when they can get the $99 round-trip specials. The 75 a/c can better be used on other routes.

Remember we are going to start losing the 752's this year that were used heavily on LAS routes.

Agreed. The return this year of the PW-powered 757s will cause substantial aircraft substitution until AA replaces those airplanes with something.

My prediction is that US/HP (LCC) will ditch their 46 or so RR-powered 757s if the Delta takeover happens. Delta has a bunch of PW-powered 757s and is getting the ex-TWA/ex-AA PW-powered birds.

To which airline would they probably go? AA. Just like the plan several years ago when AA was going to take the USAir 757s off their hands as part of the ill-fated UAL deal.

Another possibility? When AA buys NW, AA could (if it wanted to) acquire a boatload of PW-powered 757s as part of that deal.

There's no shortage of 757s about to come on the market and AA management knows it.

Anyone know if a handfull of the S-80's being temporarily stored are coming out by summer to backfill some of the lost capacity? Also, how are the 767-300 refurbishments going? And the 757 and 737 winglet mods?

FedEx is now buying used 757's,and will buy both RR & PW versions that it can get it's hands on. This will drive up the price of used 757's.

Some minor updates:

*Dallas-Montrose will operate this summer; CR7 14June-04Sep
*Dallas-Sao Paulo will go to 12x weekly between 09Jun-04Sep
*St. Louis-Springfield, daily MQ ERD, starts 11Apr07
*O'Hare-Frankfurt will get a 777 for a short while, 10Apr07 through a TBD date, probably in October.

According to a gate agent at MSY, STL-MSY goes to American Connection in the next month or two.

Also, according to one of the agents at DAL, Love Field flying is not going all Eagle. The DAL-STL and DAL-MCI are going to American Connection (Trans-States and/or Chatauqua).

And yet, oddly enough, St Louis-Springfield goes to Eagle and not American Connection.

The STL-Springfield has been discussed somewhere. It went Eagle, because of the MTX they perform in Springfield.

First new route for 2007:

Miami-Valencia,VE daily 738, 10APR07

Gotta wonder... with Hugo assuming dictator powers, is it wise to be starting up another market in Venezuela?...

Travel between the US and Venezuela is at record numbers. Also, with the collapse of a main bridge between Carcas' airport and the city, Valencia has become an important alternative.

Do you catch my drift) ?????????

First, a female Speaker of the House....THEN...A Female PRESIDENT OF THE USA.

You're right -- I can't wait to see President Rice's inaugural. 😉

Mark, traffic might be at record levels, but is it people escaping while they can, or people trying to get back in before the borders are closed down?...

Chavez assuming rule-by-decree has a lot of ramifications for business. One of our customers is based in Venezuela, and they're not even sure if they'll be allowed to pay their upcoming invoice or not. AA's already had problems in the recent past where they couldn't repatriate money for tickets bought in VEB's. If that happens again, all bets are off.
