I'm looking in Res for the MIA-CZM flt and I can't find anything on this service you mention. Where did you get your info?

I don't know where you are looking, but the Miami-Cozumel has been bookable on AA.com for a few days now.

Chicago-Shannon, daily 757, 01May07 (seasonal)

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Mark in MIA,

Speaking of seasonal, AA.com route map shows Anchorage(ANC) as a "AA" seasonal station(not AS code share).

What is the exact info about ANC ?
I've always wanted to go up there.

NH/BB's

DFW-ANC and ORD-ANC typically operate from June to September.

This year, Dallas-Anchorage will start 24 May 2007. As of now, AA does not plan on operating O'Hare-Anchorage this summer, which is not surprising given the 757 shortage.

Also, on a less fortunate note, ANAC (Brazil's equivalent of DOT) denied AA's application to provide non-stop service between Miami and Recife starting in Jun07.

Couldn't GLA have been given a shot with the 757? Loads were always extremely healthy on the 763, both upfront and in economy. Although I understand AA carried very little cargo from GLA in 2006, so perhaps that was the reason for the lower yield.

MIA-LAX 7th daily is now year-round. In addition, a 762 will be used on one MIA-LAX frequency starting 12Jul07. This means another 3-class MIA-LAX flight (joining the daily 772), but, perhaps even more interesting to those who like usless fact: all five Boeing types in AA's fleet will now be used on MIA-LAX.

LAS

-loses DFW redeye
-loses 1 STL
-goes from half 757 and half MD-80's to only 4 757's and the rest 80's

GO figure  .

How much does it cost to fly around mostly empty MD-80s for 21 hours a day?

My guess is around 60K/day or about 20M/year.

You're forgetting--no cost is too great to prevent dabbling in SWA's home field. How much did it cost to kill Legacy? 😛

Why can't airline managers just manage the airline? 🙄 TC

Because it is easier to slash worker's wages and benefits!
