AV60,

I AM NOT AN IAM LACKEY. AMFA IS THE WAY TO GO FOR ME

Just what are you inferring with that remark??

I DID WALK THE PICKET LINE IN 92......AND WAS HARASSED BY THE POLICE and FLIPPED OFF BY LOSER RAMPERS AND OTHER IDIOTS WHO WERE NOT UNIONIZED AT THE TIME!!

Start "splaining Lutzy" <_<

E-TRONS OUT.

It is known you are not a lackey
just adding to your post a bit
is amfa the way to go im not sure
will they forgo jobs for the better of amt's
or are they just a lite industrial union
have they set up a system like a true craft union ie ibew, ironworkers, carpenters
those are true craft unions
there a journeyman can go anywhere in the usa and earn journeyman wages
they do not start at the bottom of the payscale
as of today i view amfa as better than what is out there for us now
but not a true craft union
sorry for the misunderstanding

My wife and I walked the line with the Eastern pilots at the DTW airport and I will gladly support you in this difficult time. I work for PSA and I will never cross a picket line. Good luck to IAM in resolving this issue.

AV60,
My guess is 141 will honor your picket lines until the company gets a judge to issue a TRO. Our contract is very clear in stating that we cannot be forced to cross a picket line by the company.A federal judge is another matter. Don't let the actions of some ignorant fools in '92 make you think that you don't have support from a lot of us in Fleet Service. At some point the employees of this company have to say ENOUGH!

Like in the past I fear we will be standing there alone. Maybe this time, unlike the 92 strike, we will not see fellow employees giving us the finger, the cold shoulder, or listen to the heckling from them. Only time will tell.
As I recall, the AFA officially honored your picket line in 1992. You owe those folks an apology.

In the 1992 strike the flight attendants were ordered back to work by a republican appointed federal judge. The flight attendants proceeded with the court case in a resulting judgment that they could not be forced to cross the line. The outcome of this case did us no good in the 1992 event, but could play a vital role in the upcoming strike over the airbus work.

--Please try to look at this as the line drawn in the sand not just for maintenance, but for all of us whom have given enough and what the cooperate leadership to step up to the plate and do their part. The easy thing for them to do is to keep beating us down. Now they need to do their jobs and earn their money.

If I remember correctly the only ones that were confused were the mechanics and utility who the union asked vote again. Well as I hear things through meetings, we won't be striking over the AB HMV.
We will let the legal fees the company paid the union, previously for the RSA, work for us to take the company to court over the work.
Thank you for all your support over the strike issue, but if the union is telling us we won't go on strike, then whomever walks out because of the outsourcing will have no leg to stand on when they get terminated, especially since the union is not  behind the strike issue.

who told you that the Union does not support a self help action(strike)(withdrawl of services). I think You are confused, or in denial (not the River). ;)

Here's the word from the IAM 141-M informational meeting in CLT yesterday (Wednesday).
The speakers were Tony Giammarco, District Lodge 141-M AGC and
Sito Pantoja, Grand Lodge Representative.

The message was clear and straight forward. The violation of our contract, including Airbus Heavy maintenance, will not be tolorated, and will be resisted by all legal avenues including "self help".

Tell us PITMTC, who was the union representative who told you that we would not be willing to "self help" on this issue?

Under the RLA you cannot be replaced because of a major dispute and your job has to be given back to you upon return to work. This is not traditional section 6 negotiations.

Also how is the company gonna replace you when it takes weeks to get an AOA Badge?

And I was also at the same meeting as reepet and we were told quite clear we will take all actions necessary including self-help.

Also to reepet we need to address the concerns of your shop, I believe the company and the union are required to meet before the year is up to bring more work into Avionics.

Lets tackle the airbus first and keep the heat on after to bring work to your area.

The Scab
"After God had finished the rattlesnake, the toad, and the vampire, he had some awful substance left with which he made a scab."

"A scab is a two-legged animal with a corkscrew soul, a water brain, a combination backbone of jelly and glue. Where others have hearts, he carries a tumor of rotten principles."

"When a scab comes down the street, men turn their backs and angels weep in heaven, and the devil shuts the gates of hell to keep him out."

"No man (or woman) has a right to scab so long as there is a pool of water to drown his carcass in, or a rope long enough to hang his body with. Judas was a gentleman compared with a scab. For betraying his master, he had character enough to hang himself." A scab has not.

"Esau sold his birthright for a mess of pottage. Judas sold his Savior for thirty pieces of silver. Benedict Arnold sold his country for a promise of a commision in the british army." The scab sells his birthright, country, his wife, his children and his fellowmen for an unfulfilled promise from his employer.

Esau was a traitor to himself; Judas was a traitor to his God; Benedict Arnold was a traitor to his country; a scab is a traitor to his God, his country, his family and his class."
