PA. max unemployment..1600 per month for 24 weeks. Health care for a family on your own... 600+ per month. Your creditors dont care if you have a job or not. They want their money. I've been there and moved on. There is life after USAirways. Take it from someone who has been there done that..better to have a job with less pay while looking for another then to have no job at all. When the company filed Ch. 11 all the unions have lost. Sad thing is ...some of them dont even know it.

PA unemployment is 26 weeks at approx 1800 per month excluding dependents.

Many folks can inquire about special home mortgagae refinance, where you suspend principle payments on a home and just pay the interestt for a year or so. Also, credit card companies would rather work out a special rate of interest for you than for you to declare bk.

If you find yourself in a furlough situation, just call these companies. They will work with you. Also, if you are eligible for unemployment, you are eligible for career link in PA. Monies for reeducation purposes. PA is preparing to absorb this aftermath.

There is enough assistance in our communities to get anyone through this period. We have a business coalition in western PA that is willing to hire U employees. They will get this ball rolling sometime mid November.

That link will be up on PIT webpage after sometime in mid November.

Excuse me if I don't agree to pack it in just yet! In fact, if you spend a little time reading the major opinions on these boards today, I think you'll find that you're not quite in the company of 'thousands' anymore. The shift has already left you behind, it's just you and a few other desperate suck-ups left with your opinion.

Besides, why cut and run when I can take someone like you with me?

Most of us feel that we have no other options at this point...it's sad that between the company and the union that no reasonable options are on the table at this point.

This the situation the like of Glass has brought upon this company. It is his doing and union busting tactics that have inflamed the employees to this point. Any competent management team would never let labor relations get to this point. It's going to be the likes of Bronner, Lakefield, Glass and Crellin that bring this company down. Not Labor.
