So who's non rev. policy will survive?

Everyone can call it a merger. IMO, American was aquired by US Airways.

Don't worry our system is very good and I'm sure once you use it you will like it. Sen shouldn't be used for traveling not fair to the newer employees and I have 22 years and wouldn't vote for it

Yeah, when we bought AirCal it was called a merger too. Funny how that works. But AA was also allowed to file BK with over $4 Billion in the bank that has now over $6 Billion. Go figure

Yeah, and I wonder how many people shorted the stock prior to Chapter 11.

Timezones wouldn't matter in your example under AA's policy --- thru pax have a higher priority within their classification than local pax. The JFK-MIA nonrev could have listed days before the LAX-JFK-MIA nonrev, but the one making the LAX-JFK-MIA connection will still be boarded first at JFK.
So it is not FCFS if the LAX pax checks-in after the JFK pax and the LAX pax gets on first…..And is it your opium that time zone can play a role in FCFS if the time zone allows earlier check-in.

I think you're intentionally making it more complicated than it is. It is FCFS LAX-JFK-MIA and since they are through passengers, they have priority over originating passengers (JFK-MIA).Seems fair and makes sense to me.

You probably don't know that I managed jumpseat and non-rev travel procedures for a couple years in the mid 90's. Unless the policies have been changed in the past six years, there's no confusion on my part.

Sorry, no opium for me.

The only time zone that matters is the one for the departing flight you're on.

And it most certainly is time based. You're overlooking the fact they're in different classifications. You start out as a D2 on your first flight leg, and are a D2T on your subsequent legs.

The same applies for revenue customers as well -- the guy on revenue standby who is connecting has priority over a revenue standby who is a local, assuming they fall in the same priority.

Not talking about thur pax…. connecting pax

Same thing. If your travel started at an upline station, thru or connecting, you've got priority over a local.

That policy predates America West's creation by at least 10 years, IIRC. It may even predate AA using hub and spoke...

[sup]Yeah I remember intenionally going through another city just to get a D2T designation for a higher priority. And the day the company handed me my "RED" travel card, I felt pretty special travelling as an A10.....LOL[/sup]

Through or connecting is the same. LAX-DFW-JFK, whether you stay on the aircraft in DFW or change aircraft in DFW you are still a through passenger. If you stop in DFW and take a flight out the next day by your choice then you are originating when you leave the next day. If you get stuck in DFW and are forced to overnight at your expense of course you are still a through passenger.
