So who's non rev. policy will survive?

Just like the naming or branding of the old American it just became the new American. Cactus knew it was getting AMR dirt cheap, the American brand alone is worth more than all of USAir. Certain decisions have already been made regardless of what's written here.

So get used to FCFS, it only hurts the first time.. Then you crave for more...

Are you this obstinate and argumentative at work as well? It's been explained to you multiple times and you just chose to ignore the answers. Or your are too dense to understand logic. Which isn't good for future job opportunities.

Why are you upset you don’t see it the way of many and you attack are you like that at work as well
Are you that narrow-minded not good for future job opportunities.

I get that, but what it does is make him equal to every other employee. Same rules for everyone. I may be in the woods with no cell signal 24 hours prior to my flight. In flight, in the woods, that is the position we put ourselves in.

If you have a cellphone, tablet or laptop you won't have a problem there is an app for checkin

You check in up to 24 hours in advance. Be it your home computer or smart phone or a friend or relatives computer. You then print out a boarding pass to get through security. You find your gate of departure. You use your smart phone app to check the list. You sit at the gate and wait for your name to be called. You can follow the list move up as names are being called. You even have standby names posted up on the backdrop at the gate. You do not have to talk to the gate agent unless you have an issue. When they call you you get your boarding pass with seat assignment and your on your way. This is the way AA designed the system to work so it speeds up the boarding process and less wasted time dealing with the gate agent asking repetitive questions. It works just fine at AA. Nobody complains about it. Try it you may realize that it is a really good non-rev experience.

If this was in the form of a multiple choice question, I'd mark (D), all of the above. With the help of former HP employees like myself, I don't see the AA FCFS changing.

27 pages of arguing over something we have NO control over. It will be whatever management decides. No big surprise there.

.

Why are you (and others) so afraid of having a level playing field, where no one person has any special advantage over another?

Because the current way isn't really a level playing field and people do have advantages over someone else, unless you are only counting people going from A to B, then sure, everyone on that flight has a level playing field to check in 24 hours before flight. Even.
But, if you consider the BIG picture, it's far from a level playing field for everyone systemwide. People leaving on a flight from MCO to DFW are even, people leaving from FLL to DFW are even, even TPA to DFW are even, but when you throw in everyone from these cities trying to connect to LAX, then it becomes a non level playing field. If the MCO flight leaves at 6am, FLL at 605 and TPA at 610, then there is no way that the FLL or TPA people (not to mention the poor DFW people) have a level playing field as far as being able to check in for the DFW-LAX flight on a level playing field 24 hours ahead of flight time because they're already penalized beacuse of where they are coming from and what times the flights are scheduled from that city.
FCFS might work great and it's easy to know where you stand on the list which is great and fine, but don't keep trying to convince me that it is fair and a level playing field for everyone, because the way it's being explained is far from fair for everyone. You might not like DOH, and that's understandable if you don't think that it's fair for everyone because not everyone has the same seniority, but I don't see that FCFS is fair across the board either as far as everyone is trying to sell it.

A Most Excellent Explanation of our Non Rev Policy.... Bravo..

Ahhh.. Tad JR.. You are a D2T which is above a D2 (dfw originator).. and your checkin time is the law when determining who gets the seat be it TPA , MCO or the FLL guy..

Ok US DOH fans, we get it. You think it's better than AA's policy of FCFS. Got it...move on will ya!!

I understand the concept, but everyone keeps saying its a level playing field while DOH isn't even or level, but it isnt a level playing field either. If the MCO flight leaves at 6am, then the earliest you can check in leaving from MCO is 6am so that time stamps your connecting flight as well. If you are leaving on a flight from another city (FLL or TPA, etc), and they leave later than the MCO flight, then you are ALWAYS going to be at a disadvantage to someone leaving from that other city because of being able to check in 24 hours before your originating flight which is scheduled to leave later than someone in another city. This is not equal, level or fair by any means for everyone.
If you like FCFS for whatever reason, that's great, but I do not see how everyone can say FCFS is fair, level, everyone has the same chance, etc, because clearly you don't have the same ability as someone else to check in and get on the DFW-LAX flight as everyone. That means someone has an advantage, it's just subjective as to where the other people are coming from and what time their first flight leaves as opposed to how long you've been working for the company with DOH.

Sure, as long as someone will admit that it ISNT as fair as the FCFS fans are saying it is. Done with it. Thanks for the dialogue.
