So who's non rev. policy will survive?

It only matters if there is a vote, and remember US bought AA and US' executives will be running the show.
I also seem to recall those same executives saying the smaller group would have tochange, little something they learned from the last merge where they tried to have the larger group change to the smaller groups way of doing things.

and also remember it only happened at the behest of the employees union's leadership. not to mention that the combined carrier will be predominately AA, 72/28 if I recall. so don't start any high and mighty $h!t here!

Oh boy!!!! ------" US bought AA" ? Now it starts!!!!

Yeh MCI, it's nice to see people fighting over the same turd I mean turf. This site is going to be the " place " to read about all the native-AAers and Cactusheads crying in their beers.

I'm so excited MCI I may even cancel my cable TV just to have more time here... ;-)

That's what Parker said:

Parker, who headed America West Airlines Inc. when it engineered a merger with US Airways in 2005, said executives won’t try to replace American’s systems with US Airways’ unless there’s a good reason, “and I can’t tell you what the compelling reason is.”

Parker acknowledged that when America West executives took control of US Airways, “we were pretty proud of ourselves and thought we know how to do stuff better than the US Airways team did, so we decided we were going to put our system, that worked, on US Airways.

“That was a bad idea,” Parker said. “It really was.”

I don't expect Parker to immediately change everything to the HP way of doing things, unless he was lying in that interview. He is a CEO, so by some people's definition, everything he utters is a lie.

He was probably talking about big-stuff like the Shares debacle at both US-HP and last March 3 at CO-UA, which handed AA a huge boost just when AA needed it the most, right after AA filed a Ch 11 petition and every analyst was proclaiming that AA would shrink by 10% to 15% in 2012.

In part, thanks to Smisek's mis-steps, AA shrank by less than 3% yet increased annual revenue by $900 million in 2012 (compared to 2011). Essentially, those analysts underestimated AA's 2012 revenue by more than $3 billion. AA's 2012 unit revenue percentage increases were subsantially larger than US unit revenue gains, and obviously, Parker will want to keep that kind of growth happening. If Parker is as smart as everyone says he is, then he'll review what's been working at AA and stay the course.

What page out this 21 page thread do I need to go back to to read about whose non-rev policy will prevail?

Just a reminder to everyone that not all who post on here are actual employees of either company. No need to start a war thanks to outsiders who dont have an actual interest in the outcome.

Q. Which company is the buyer in this deal – AMR or US Airways?

A. The transaction is structured as a merger, not as the purchase by one company of the other. AMR and US Airways have an agreement to combine both companies. AMR Corporation, American’s current parent, will be the parent holding company for the combined American and US Airways. We expect that immediately after the merger, AMR Corporation will change its name to American Airlines Group Inc.

Specially over something as enconsequential as flight benefits...

We need a name then for the original USAirways people back East. We are not cactus heads. :D Native US?

I'm a CactUS. LoL. People not working for either airline need to mind there business and there 2 cents. This is between AA/US employees. I have 12 years seniority and I'm good either way we choose but I am leaning towards seniority. I would hate to be bumped off a flight by a new hire...

LOL! I like that, CactUS! Imagine working for 30 plus years ,retiring and having a new hire get boarded before you! Not cool. You saw the message on here about the guy who's retired from US, 66 years old and working full time? Amuses me when people say the retirees have all the time in the world to fly. If they are THAT retired, they are probably in their 80's and dont go ANYWHERE. Most retirees I know are working and rarely travel. :)

...and I have 30 yrs and it wouldn't bother me if a 12 yr employee boarded before I did if he followed company policy.
