So who's non rev. policy will survive?

What took so long for this information to come out?
Everybody stressing out over nothing.
If you get to vote on it, you can settle it by the majority opinion.
Yes, it will most likely be FCFS since that's what everyone at AA is used to and the diehard HP people will want it again unless they have "gotten used to the possibility of a different way of doing things" as Eolesen said.

I've had it both ways, ------Senority TWA (IAM), and AA FCFS (TWU) , and frankly, I was not too thriled about the change either! But it works! And I know at all Airlines that are represented by the IAM, that Senority is king. But in this case, I prefure AA's policy FCFS, best. With AA's online setup on jetnet, everthing is above board. You can preplan your trips, and I'de say 99% of the time everything is above board and all info. on your flight is accessable to everyone. Unlike the Senority thing where you may, or may not, know if a persons Senority is indeed greater than yours! It worked for me, and I had 33 years with TWA, and only 7 with AA!

"everything is above board and all info. on your flight is accessable to everyone"...Uh, we have that, too at US...

"Unlike the Senority thing where you may, or may not, know if a persons (sic) Senority is indeed greater than yours!"...Uh, no, at US you DO know if person's seniority if greater than yours...

Proof? This just off of TravelUS.. one of the "above board, all the info, accessible, know if a person's seniority is indeed greather yours" non-rev listings AAvailable on AAll US flights todAAy. (last names and flight number removed for privacy):

BAAck to AAnother excuse why FCFS is superior....

Updated (domestic) FCFS and DOH tally:
DL DOH
UA DOH
US DOH
AA FCFS
WN FCFS

DL (non-union) and UA (union) both (wAAy) bigger than AA and their non-revs seem to be doing well everyday with DOH despite AAll the cries about the vAAgaries of "last minute listers", "increased agent work load" and "US union slugs"...

Keep 'em coming...I guess at some point DL and UA and US will eventually come AAround to the AA wAAy.

Funny thing is, my guess is that given AA's senior workforce DOH would probably put US at a disAAdvantage...LOL! (But I still like DOH...)

A load of crap in your opinion from the outside to boot. This kid says its not fair that people who started before he was born get to go ahead of him. I usually like and respect most of your posts, but you lost me on this one. This guys comments in general convey that he resents guys who started before he was born, giving him an unfair disadvantage, and that my friend is a load of crap.

Agreed. And he wouldn't even HAVE a job at an airline or have the ABILITY to take all these crazy day trips if the people born BEFORE him hadn't been working hard to keep these little airlines going!

No, matter...now that I'm outta the womb...step to the back of the line b*tches!!!! Talk about entitlement..(Oh and pass me my milk bottle...I'm hongry!)

Yep, you're probably right. But us senior folk here at AA think FCFS is the "fairest" way to do it.

In the end we will deal with whatever policy comes our way, and learn to live and work with it. If it comes down to a vote, the majority will decide which way they want to go.

Hey, first let me say I hear you, and am for FCFS, but ------- AA may be the majority here, but there is no garentee that this issue will even be put to a vote! ------- The "new" AA will be managed by US people, and they could just say "this is the way it's going to be" since this is a non contractual issue,

It only matters if there is a vote, and remember US bought AA and US' executives will be running the show.

I'm very glad the us execs are running the show and from what I understand they used to run the show at hp and when they bought us air they put it to a vote is that correct? I would prefer the fcfs and will vote for it if a vote takes place but either way is ok with me just a matter if getting used to that's all.

Oh boy!!!! ------" US bought AA" ? Now it starts!!!!

The US/HP mind game begins. The 72/28 percent split worries the crap out of them in this merge. We all know what each side brought to the table. It will not be a total US management team. The top position will be, and a few of the senior execs, but not all US.

This is a clean slate for all, don't blow it by placing our collective heads up our arses

Ok, let's not get into that who bought who deal! Like others have said, let's be a TEAAM ( sorry) and work together.
Back to the subject. Can we stop beating the dead horse or FCFS vs seniority for a minute? What's is AA's upgrade policy for NRSA? is it zone based or a flat rate like US? $20.00 to upgrade per segment domestically and 100.00 for international and Hawaii.

Domestic F charges are a variation on zone pricing and the level of service. Transcons with the three cabin service have a different fee structure than a route sold as a two cabin airplane. Fortunately, AA only sells three cabins in the transcon market; if they use a 777 on DFW-ORD or DFW-LAX, it's sold as two cabins, and the charges are applied as though you were on a narrowbody.

Long haul international gets more complicated. The charges used to be $50 in coach, $100 in business, and $200 in first... that may have moved around a bit since I last looked, and there were a couple markets for ultra-long-haul where the premium charges bumped up to $125/$250.

None of that includes taxes and fees. It's simply cheaper to buy a confirmed ticket to the UK than it is to nonrev in F.
