Inexperienced, arrogant/utterly clueless simpletons, but nonetheless opinionated punks can be found in many dumpsters, by way of personal testimony to their lifetime "wisdom". The east cannot hide their reputation and it will be many years of demonstrating uncharcteristic integrity before they will build the trust necessary to be a relevant participant in growing any airline they are part of.

Reputation..indeed It may astonish you, but I've friends that are very senior check airman at UAL..should I put in a "good word" for your sorts?

I'm kidding as to the "good word" of course, or EVER even seeking prejudice against even such sorry personages as yourself, by way of professional issues. What's "not right" does NOT change for personal reasons....but seriously = They think that your bunch is naught but a buncha' selfish, inexperienced,...pretty much just "punks" with an "attitude". That's just a pair of 'em though..your actual mileage may vary...I'm otherwise, completely certain that the entire aviation world utterly, if secretly, worships the AWA pilots....

How stupid of me to think for even a millisecond that there was even a cell of integrity or character flowing in their blood. Nope. Nothing but an endless fountain of misery left in those souls. It's no wonder no one wants anything to do with them. If a UA/US merger does actually happen, they are only sealing their own fate.

Not to worry... they are now officially ignored. Like all insignificant and trivial things in life, they are not worth even the recognition of existence.

And by the way... There is not enough time left in their painfully inadequate careers to demonstrate enough integrity to be relevant again. Have you forgotten that the retirement age was only raised to 65?

Now back to my European vacation plans...

In my opinion you are still presupposing. Oh well.

Start with a LOS list. Not DOH. Snapshot the company at an agreed upon date. My guess would be merger consummation day. What does the east have and the west have at the snapshot? That is the base line. If furloughs are necessary beyond that, they will come in reverse order from the bottom of the list to the snapshot date. (The east is approximately 65% vs 35% not sure of exact numbers) Furloughs will commence at the ratio of 65-35. If the company needs additional furloughs of say 100 then, 65 from the bottom east and 35 from the bottom west. As attrition sets in again recalls to each position above the baseline as to where they came from. If 10 east pilots retire you recall 10 east furloughs. Same for west attrition / recalls to the base line. Growth above baseline will be shared by the same ratio.

Bidding is a bit more tricky to solve. Especially if it involves asset shifts. Will have to get back to you on that. Have some ideas. Especially how shifts were handled under the Kagel award. Was not pretty.

Since he (Leonidas) has not rescinded that post nor have any other west pilot posted a rational distancing from that comment, I would assume that they mean what it says, they want the captain seat and they wish every single east pilot to pay for it(for that action, I presume).

That does not sound like a very rational stance from which to argue your points, I would think.

I'm flattered that you actually talk about me to others outside this forum. I must be really important to you. I don't even talk about this forum outside of my office. So again, I'm very flattered by your admiration.

Even had to take a jet away from a captain on a checkride when he put us almost inverted leveling off on a downwind single engine. (true story.) Poor old timer. It was his last checkride before retirement and he got the rudder pedals confused. Needless to say he busted. I guess that happens when guys get THAT old! Lucky for our simulated passengers they had me to save the day!
