Could we add that the New Direction Team under RD should add insight on the last possible remarks from RC giving us away to the merger. (COC)

If we have to vote May 8th, shouldn't fleet have the input of the next IAM counsel ( For or against ) the next consequences?

Hey! Any idea how the New Direction Team might position this? Sound' like they can't add insight till it's decided everyone!.

Let me get this straight, you suggest we vote YES on this because we see the
way the economy is and nobody knows what can happen. Then you say vote YES on
this because the senior guys could get a nice buyout, in the future. So when it can
be used to get your YES vote its' acceptable to look to the future in either scenario.
''fuzz'' let me ask you this if you were to vote on May 8th at apx. 1700 and you were
told that the TA was not going to go through by your station, not me, would you still
vote YES and show that the group is divided or would you send a NO vote in as a message
that we stand together ?

My suggestion is we send a collective NO vote back and in doing so we tell the company
wait til 09' or go back to the table and make an offer that most of this group will find
acceptable. PHX, nothing against your opinions but a YES vote could get you bumped,
down graded or gone.......Most of us in PHL will not be effected by any influx of employees
but PHX looks nice if you have to move. I have 20++ years, where would I rank in seniority
in PHX because in PHL there are about 250 people in front of me.

I do hope everyone votes and in doing so vote with all the facts not with what may happen but
with what will happen. Read the papers and don't take the companys stance in why we need this.
They have mouthpieces to speak for them, they do not need us to do it for them. Canale and the
others need to tell the company our members need benifits because health care is going through
the roof. They need wages because housing is falling apart. They need security because they've
invested thier time in this company. We do not need our NC or our members speaking for the
company we need them to speak for themselves. DP and RI and SK all look out for themselves
yet we still need to show the company compassion. Let them give something back, they never
have nor never will, its' all us.

Thanks

Well the good thing is I wont know how the vote is going this time like the last time when it was tainted by guys like you in this fourm.
I will vote yes becasue I need a raise, as do my counterparts I work with on the west.
I say its time to be smart and not be crazy for a change. There is nothing better comming.
You can either choose to believe that or not its your choice.
I agree with freedom as well that a no vote for this will divide the west even futher than we are now. I know that the strong no votes will not chnage there minds. I just hope that everyone is reading this agreement and not voting against this becasue there buddy says its a POS.
Its time to move on.

Can anyone suggest where the NEW DIRECTION TEAM is or will be on the conditions of the May 8th vote?

Thank you!

We have only over two weeks to make an educated decision. Let'ls hope our new direction team gives us insight as to our vote might be cast.

We all need a raise, but when the T/A will only give you a big enough increase to cover what its going to co$t you to work under the east CBA, that is if you even still have a job with the merger mania coming since the yes vote will eliminate scope that may $ave your job and many others! Can any of our east brothers and sisters elaborate on some of these issues, for they are a deep dark secret that is not being shared. Too many will be scatching their heads, provided jobs are still there, trying to figure out why the hell they still only bring home around what they before they voted yes. It will only seem alright after first raise before they stick it to us 1/1/09 conveniently when you get the other half of your raise.
Sincerely,
Jen
btw.........
I dont care if my buddy says its a pos or a piece of gold, I sift through the facts and weigh it out myself!

FUZZ,

" I say its time to be smart and not be crazy for a change. There is nothing better comming."

I am guessing you have a secret bat phone with the company. You don't know anymore than I do. I do know that Uncle AL

is DEAD said against US having the COC in our contract. THAT IS FACT NOT AN OPINION .........

jen,

been there done that. You are dead on . a month from now people will be b@Tching about where did this come from . No one told

me about that. and OH yes YOUR DUES WILL BE GOING UP NEXT YEAR. Don't believe me . thats fine. but PLEEEEEEEEASE .

don't come crying in 09 about WHY DID MY DUES GO UP THIS IS B**lsh*T ..........

perserverance,

I have 21 years and I am about number 23 in PHX.

Take this for what it's worth..... in discussions with an AGC it was revealed that the company will infact roll the west into the east if this T/A is voted down.

They WILL NOT go back for another negotiation, they only did this time b/c of maintenance.

Also, they said that this will leave the 18 field stations suseptible to closure sooner than the 3 years that's in the new tentative.

I know I sound like DF but this is in fact what I was told...just putting it out there.....
Where have you been? Canale,AGCs, NCs along with the Maids at lake Placid have
been saying this in one variation or another. But to my knowlege none has
spoken to the reality as to how this could occur. Just assuming that LLC and IAM
would both agree to this is a stretch IMO. Then there's the question as to
whether a valid contract could be changed without a vote of those affected.

The change of scope alone for the west is huge. Maybe you can get these guys
to explain how that could happen. Nobody I know of has ever gotten an explantion.
I'm not saying one doesn't exist or that their isn't some leagal precident for it.
But to date we have heard zilch other than Canale's carefully crafted statements,
or other less subtle blurts.

BTW if it was taken to the west for a vote it just might pass. That would be a
pretty big loss for a lot of west stations on the list.

Has the east lost any stations since the merger? Are there any that since the
merger have fallen below the number for over a year?

I'm assuming your talking about PF. If so he came to our station, made these
kinds of statements about the west into the east, and was asked if he
had some more info as to how this would be possible. He said he'd get
back to us with that info. But It would be very hard to believe that he
doesn't know all there is to know on the subject as we speak.

If you know something else please tell us. But like I say I have never
heard anyone even try to defend this idea with any thing more that
saying it could happen. Mike 33 had a conversation with an LLC neg.
who said it could happen because the value of the Sept TA was greater
than the value of the east and west contract. Or something like that.
It made absolutely no sence to me. BTW PF dismissed this idea.

Thanks BF
PS I used my brothers mac computer on my last post with spell check.
No such luck on my cheapo pile. (Is that the way to spell cheepo?)

Thanks, now I know if this thing does get voted in and some of us have to
adjust we can maybe go to PHX and be in the top 20 or so some of us will probably
end up top dogs !!
 and I will feel for those who fell out, but they voted YES. They voted
us there and we voted to stay right where were at. Thanks for the answer I thought it was junior,
I actually have closer to 25 years and if I had to relocate, I'm coming. I could probably get
a bigger home too for the same money.

Thanks

The scenario was with AWA as a stand alone carrier. The ATSB loan was paid off with financing from the merger.

I guess I wasn't clear. One of the scenarios was what if the TWU had
prevail after the merger. Would they have continued sec 6? And if
so, what kind of contract could they have gotten for the west? I know
That this is very hypothitical but I'm coming from the position of
what I think should have happened and It doesn't make to much
difference to me that it didn't happen like that. So my position
would be to fight until we get what I think we deserve.

I know that that could mean losses for some. But IMO the greater
loss for a greater number would be felt should this TA pass. Keep
in mind I speak as a west employee with an 8% geo on the bottom
of the seniority list and at a station that's on the list. We probably
are safe even under the east contract but why is this happening at
all? If we give up so much in a TA why are we even trying to get a TA?
Thanks BF

perv YOU better pack PLENTY OF SUNBLOCK >. coming out of the grey smoggy skys of phl . You probably

don't get out in the sun much. other than the 1 trip to the shOre with the family. OH the cheesesteaks out there

don't hold a candle .

first let me say welcome to jpn.
Now let me clarify something in your post. Your UNION NEG TEAM made up of AGC's making
over 100,000.00 a year NEG that contract NOT the hubs. Randy and his band of misfits don't
care for any of us. they use the divide and conquer method along with the gloom and doom
scare tactics. NOT very UNION if you ask me . but it is what it is. As for me personally . I VOTED NO. I wanted it to GO to the Judge. just like UA did after us . but no there were alot of scared people out there. As far as the HUBS wanting 2 payscales . WHY would the hubs
be concerned what other stations make. just like why would you care what goes on in a hub
if it doesn't affect you then you don't care. SO NO the hubs weren't going around saying the
smaller stations should make less . ( actually you guys work harder then we do anyway . I know I worked in one. ) THE UNION > with the leadership of Randy Canale NEG your death
not the HUBS. and I as an employee and member of the IAM am tired of watching our UNION NEG away jobs . IT has nothing to do with HUB or class II .

O-man

I don't understand that post. So it was ok when the hubs voted in the two payscales back then b/c the hubs could give a sh$t about the the field stations but now all the NO votes in the hubs are protecting the west!! Canale brought that contract to the hubs and the hubs voted it in, period! So don't sit here and keep telling the west that the hubs are protecting you and that they can thank you. Bullsh$t! ALSO ....the co. can negotiate jobs away sooner than later if the TA isn't passed.

And you talk about scare tactics!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong but PHX has been a station in our system for a long time and I've never witnessed a mass exodus there.

I would love to see some philly guys on that tarmac in the summer with temps of 125 degrees......LOL!
