That's what a station manager told me along with one of his managers, and I think it to be accurate, because otherwise Company would convert everyone to part-time status as it would be cheaper (no family health insurance benefits and less down time between banks), not to mention a great way to force out the few long-term, full-time employees who are topped-out and making decent money.

I agree that your summation might be right, but its the % that is the problem. You threw out 70% p/t 30% f/t. I don't see that in writing any where?
I don't want to be confused with:
"con artists #### house lawyers"

And My Dear Friend Roabilly,

Ah, democracy at work whereby the majority can repress the minority... just as the East hubs sold out their minority outstations for a few piece of silver. Just as East can tell West to pound sand and wait for parity while they play their games over CIC, new unions, a new contract for themselves, and new leadership. Democracy without protections of the respect of equality and rights for all people is just mob rule through the ballot box (not to get off the topic or anything).

'N Roabilly, iffin' you's be thinkin' dat wuz a beatun lass weke, den you's don't no me nuthin' as I's in ma pryme.

So Recalls Jester.

TA

I am just a little curious as the more I think about things the more my mind wonders. For example:

What would prevent the IAM from stapling the West to the east contract? If the east were not enduring any change and only the West was, would only the west get to vote? I think maybe so as long as the 2009 date was still on the TA as is on the East contract. Not so good for the company as there would be no extention but they would save $$$ I believe. Is this why RC an Ron R are talking this up. I don't know, but it would accomplish some things........

No matter what happens, the bottom line is that we shouldn't have to cover our own backs. We pay for that service>...................

Good question Mike
I don't think that the west would get to vote in that case either. If there are no major changes to the contract then from my understanding the IAM could accept it without a vote. I think this is what happened to Customer Service. I have no idea what constitutes major changes though.

Would any such scenario satisfy LCC's need tahh fully intragate tha two carriers ?

Don't think so.... we both (East 'n West) still gotta agree to it !

Don't kno roa ?

Only they can answer that, but for JOE DIRT, the east would not change. Only the west so maybe only the West would vote....Eh?

Could someone explain something to me? I thought the negotiations had broken off and no more were scheduled. Did the company and IAM agree to bring everyone under the current east contract? Is that still what's happening? Did something change? Is the IAM trying again at getting a transition agreement? OOOH I'm getting dizzy, I better stop now. Thanks Ed

P.S. I'm from M&R thats why I don't understand

I don't know Mike someone else with more knowledge than me will have to answer that one.

We are waiting on the results of our Ord representative asking the International IAM (Tom Brickner) if we need an accurate Cost Analysis for NC comparisions and I would assess a decision that we could bring about a Law Suit against TWU/IAM/USAIRWAYS with the three years of delays.

You are correct. We're just trying to figure out the rumor of just putting the West Fleet with the East CBA. Nothing really has changed yet

HP Customer Service had NO union contract. Major changes though $5.00+ an hr rises and work rules

My man...

I just don't understand this train ahh thought....

Tha only way they... (LCC).... could bring west, under or contract (East) without our approval… would be thru section 6 negotiations… followed by… ahh proposal… followed by ahh T/A with mirror language. Incidentally… without senority interrogation…followed by ahh vote (ratification) frum tha west.

If this were to be attempted… Y’all been “hood winkedâ€... 'n democracy has been circumvented!

That ain't whut we are about !

Can anybody give me any past labor case history?

I am old and beat but new to this forum too. Interesting reading, waiting with baited breath to see some kind of ACTION. Keep on

Roabilly,

Why would they have to have the East approval....the only change to the east would be the # of members.........The west might vote because the change would affect them.....I dunno....I have a headache too...........
