I understand Amfa has solicited Planners, Schedulers and Management personal to boost the card count!

It's ironic Amfa wannabes complain on these discussion boards about AA list! In the same token have been soliciting for their signatures!

What a web of deception Amfa weaves!

I understand the Company and the TWU are one in the same and connected at the hip.

And that the TWU will be seperated from the other twin soon in a complicated NMB procedure.

To prepare for this procdure we must first play the game against two opponents instead of one.

AMFA JUST ASKED FOR THE NMB TO STEP IN AND REQUESTED MEDIATION TO NEG OUR CONTRACT HERE AT HORIZON AIR, WITHOUT A VOTE OF THE MEMBERSHIP OR EVEN ANY KIND OF NOTICE ON WHAT THAT MEANS TO THE MEMBERSHIP NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW HOW MUCH THAT WILL COST OUR LOCAL OR IF WE WILL HAVE LEGAL HELP IN THE ROOM WITH THE MEDIATOR WE HAVE NOT HAD A LAWYER IN THE ROOM FOR THE LAST YEAR OF NEG AND WE DONT KNOW IF ANYONE WILL BE REPRESENTING US NOW EITHER.

This might sound rude, but I'm not surprised at all. How could AMFA, especially Delle or McCormick have time to negotiate a contract for you? You're "just" a commuter Airlines to AMFA. Delle is too busy at American Airlines and United Airlines to worry about a few at Horizon. I hope that the Horizon Mechanics have learned a lesson. I feel sorry for those who didn't want AMFA, but I don't for the stupid ones who did. It's going to be a long time before you ever see AMFA again, just ask the Mechanics at Alaska and Northwest. Once they've got your dues they're long gone. I was LOL thinking that Delle even Farmed Out your Negotiations to a Mediator. AMFA Sucks!

What are you just upset because they anticipated your actions?

It looks like it will be just as effective here as it was at NWA and UAL at preventing the mechanics from going AMFA!

but then again isnt that what the TWU is known for-ineffectiveness, or in the Teamsters words-"Inept"ness!

CIO at it again!

Like Bob said, CIO is just upset because the AA/TWU's moves were anticipated.
As was the case at United and is apparent by the inflated list presented by AA to the NMB, the company will do whatever it takes to protect it's lAAp dog union.

TWU, OUT THE DOOR IN '04!

When is the last time you saw Sonny Hall at a union meeting?

You managed to scrounge up one complaint from the mechanic web site. However there is no sign in on that site so for all we know you may have written that post yourself then cut and pasted it here. I've seen a few such posts by TWU supporters done this way which leads me to suspect their origins The fact is there is no card drive at any airline to oust AMFA and get the TWU now is there?

Why is that?

Even if there is a handful of malcontents at those carriers the fact is the majority chose AMFA, just as they will here. I have no doubt that once all the TWU double dippers are forced back on the floor we will hear complaints from them too.

Do you have any comments on the "mechanics pay vs CPI or the $3 million "arrangement" between the TWU and the company. An "arrangement" that was kept in place though our concessions?

Weren't you one of the original TWU double dippers forced back onto the floor? And aren't we hearing complaints from you? Please address this mishap. Could it be you are a lost soul hungry for the attention you now miss?

No I was not. I never left the floor.

I still punched a time clock. Most of my lost time offset my pay from the company.

I also often did assignments for Gless on my days off, so he would not have to do it, and work after shift, which I was paid for, however I only put in for time that was in excess of the hourly value of my $800/month salary. Due to the fact that I worked most weekends I would put in for the time I put in for meetings during the week on my days off and take a different day off instead.

The only ones that were "off the headcount" but still collecting a check was Bobby Gless and Levere Deane, both of whom are now members of the International.

During the period when Chuck Schalk was President he was the only one off the headcount.

However now with Chuck and I out of the way the company pays all the Locals lost time, however the board is not collecting a double check of six figures from the union plus another $60+K from the company.

If I understand correctly, Amfa organizers feel everyone who is eligible to vote! Should have the right to vote?

Amfa is the one, who has solicited management! I remember several flyers concerning the eligibility of the Mechanic's Class and Craft. So, I really do not see the Amfa supporters having any grounds to complain about the list AA has submitted to the NMB?

Unless they themselves believe, potential members do not have the right to cast a ballot?

So far, the TWU has not put forth any comments about the list! It's currently being review by all parties involved! As the process continues, I can see the potential for lengthy discussion on who is and is not eligible to vote!

Remember this; Amfa has been the one who has leaked the total on the AA list! It seems, Amfa is already in bed with AA! After all! The joke around the system is: "Amfa wannabes are more likely to fill in as an MPR"

"It seems, AMFA is already in bed with AA!" CIO, this is an outright lie! The truth well known throughout the system is there is no room in the TWU/AA bed for outsiders and to think AMFA would do a threesome is outrageous.

And we at Local 530 make triple 0s. That would include a salary of $000.00 along with our company paychecks. And I still punch the clock too Bob. I really feel sorry for you. Let's see if I double dip it still comes up to $000.00

YES

Amfa is the one, who has solicited management! I remember several flyers concerning the eligibility of the Mechanic's Class and Craft.

OK, Tell us more. What did they say?

So, I really do not see the Amfa supporters having any grounds to complain about the list AA has submitted to the NMB?

Are you saying that management should have a say in what union we get?

Unless they themselves believe, potential members do not have the right to cast a ballot?

Potential members? Why not pass ballots out to everyone out on the street? They may be potential members. If the TWU considers management potential members then why hasnt the TWU made a move yet, they have been on the property since 1946! What are they waiting for? The AMFA drive?

So far, the TWU has not put forth any comments about the list! It's currently being review by all parties involved! As the process continues, I can see the potential for lengthy discussion on who is and is not eligible to vote!

Dont worry, it wont be that long. Ual and NWA already went through this.

Remember this; Amfa has been the one who has leaked the total on the AA list! It seems, Amfa is already in bed with AA! After all!

Oh really? Then why would the company inflate the number? And why would the company be paying TWU officials $3 million a year? Seems that the company is trying to protect their company union!

The joke around the system is: "Amfa wannabes are more likely to fill in as an MPR"

That is a joke. Tell us how many ex-TWU officials have gone permanently into management? I know of quite a few.

I guess you get what you are worth.

But then again if I was earning over $100,000 then I would have done it all for free too.And from where I'm sitting here in NY you are earning well over $100,000.

Feel sorry for me? What for?

Yea but after you punch the clock where do you go? Straight to your basement office?Do you go out and get an assignment like everyone else or are you given special consideration?

As the Treasurer of our Local I was assigned to come up with a budget. I proposed cutting the salaries that we got because some guys apparently felt that the salary was for "the responsibility of the job" and any time that they put in was extra, like Bobby Gless who had often put in for "Lost time", he even put in for Holiday pay on Columbus Day! How does a President who is off the clock get Lost Time?Ask Bobby about that next time he is down there. Ask him about how he set himself up as the highest paid President with one of the smallest Locals. Ask him why he panicked when I called all the other Locals to find out what everyone was getting paid.Ask Bobby why he never goes down to see the guys when he flys out of New York. Then call the maint desk at JFK or LGA and compare what he tells you to what they tell you.

As much gripping that goes on here about AMFA and TWU, I'm inclined to take my chances with the company and boot them both out. Time to get rid of the middle men.
