"I cant wait till the company hammers employees" Hmm..so much for you being the slightest sort of actual Unionist

East, that isn't the question 700 is concerned about. 700 never wanted you to see him as a company man or a union man.. the only thing that matters is that you always see that he is always right.

Maybe they can all author a book "How to Succeed in Arbitration" or "How I got Ahead in Aviation". It would make millions of yen, possibly even pesos. Who knows, they could even start a reality TV show like "Career Idle" or something like that! Wow. The sky is the limit!

We can do what America West pilots did to succeed, scab in another countries pilots business(Australia), fly drugs for profit so Ansett former owners will give us airplanes and investment.

Copy the last. It must be burdensome to walk always in pefection....I'll certainly never know, especially while being naught but a mere mortal myself

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have finally resigned myself to the fact that I will never rise to be an EC member too.

Ya Know, you don't see the West guys playing the whole character assassination game, why must you??

AWA320,

Just one more point...if AWA pilots do not pay their USAPA dues then they will be in bad standing and they will have no union votes. And, not to mention they can be fired by not paying certain dues and assesments.

Meanwhile, when considering "Just the Facts II" here are some points made by a USAPA Officer I respect:

Just a few thoughts . . .

1. ALPA says that we cannot "bargain" seniority in a collective bargaining agreement, yet that is
exactly what they are attempting to do with the Rice Bowl Committee, in fact Rice even talks about
the National collective bargaining comm in his last letter. yes, you can bargain seniority, USAPA
wants to do it without ALPA. Read section 22, titled "seniority" it is already there.

2. If USAPA wins, we will treat the AWA guys fairly. They will leave ALPA since we will take them
with us, but that doesn't mean we can screw them. We will have to work hard to make sure they are
properly represented, and they are treated fairly in any agreement that is reached later. There
are going to be difficult times, very difficult, but that doesn't mean we can leave them out, its
going to be harder.

Funny, you don't hear ALPA saying they are going to treat us fairly, or that ALPA merger policy is
going to applied fairly? No, the Nicolau award is not fair (or ALPA would have passed it) but you
don't hear this discussion from ALPA.

I am going to wait and see how this plays out. I am committed to having an election here, and I
think we are going to have one.

Looks like we will have an election, and ALPA now knows it, think how bad all that polling had to
have been for this reaction!

Changing Unions to Change Seniority?
Look Before You Leap

Third, if you think ALPA policy is a problem now, see what it looks like when you’re outside the union.

....What will stop another ALPA pilot group from trying to impose on you, one way or another, the same outcome that American pilots imposed on TWA pilots? Does the course still seem straightforward?

How stupid can ALPA be?

TWA was a part of ALPA when they got screwed by..... ALPA. It was ALPA that convinced TWA pilots to wave their rights in dealing with APA in order to extend an olive branch to APA to convince APA to come home to papa ALPA. TWA got pimped out by ALPA, and now Prater's goons are trying to tell us how bad life will be if we aren't ALPA??! TWA guys got pimped out because ALPA pimped them.

Who are the goons writing their arguments for them up at ALPA? I used to be afraid to leave my pets outside at night, but I don't think I have to worry anymore.

Umm...I'll take "You guys don't have the wealth of available material" for a thousand  Given that your comrades have been telling us for months that everything's a "done deal".."there's no windfall"..."we saved you"..."the dishonorable easties".."the crybaby easties"...""the east has no integrity"/etc/ad nauseum.."you'll never get the decert cards/votes/etc"....and lately?; threatening Fantasyland personal lawsuits and, in general, manifesting EVERY variance of utterly spoiled brat behaviour possible...It sure ain't due to any inherent "nobility" out west

PS: If all you've seen's laudatory respect for the east from your group...you're VERY selective in your readings ;)

Here, I'll dumb it down a bit for you:

A new union will not make the Nicolau decision go away.

They do not have to make it go away. In fact, making it go away might subject all to another arbitration. You wouldn't want some of those west comments revealed to a new arbitrator. He might think the west pilots got a windfall and exhibited immature behavior and maybe the west pilots might need a little seasoning, first, at the bottom of some list.

Regardless. All the "new union" needs is to moot it. Lots of ways to do that. Carry it as excess baggage in a contract. Doesn't matter.

Exactly the case. It's clear that Alpo's not going to produce any solution to the mutant monster they birthed, and left free to reign havoc on the east/west group's hopes for a better future.
