AAA ALPA Thread 9-14 to 9-21, East ALPA here

Why do you expect anything for your group from such a worthless entity?

We do not expect anything from your worthless entity, we just wanted to protect what we had (our seniority, our future, our upgrades, etc) from your worthless entity. Nicolau achieved most of that for us.

What's transpired to change your mind about even the possibilty that there will be another union? You were quite certain that such could never happen

Could be that you'll find your thinking in error again at some points in the future
Nothing changed my mind.

USAPA doesn't have a chance.

I just want to keep crushing this fantasy for kicks.

Why is Junebugs' time with the company worth more than an east pilot?
Dumb question, but I'll try my best to drop an IQ point or two to answer it.

It has nothing to do with "worth."

Instead, I brought my seniority to the table just as an east pilot brought his. We ended up in the same relative seniority on the combined list as we did at our previous companies.

AWA ALPA MEC Update – September 18, 2007

Re: Executive Council Meeting

The ALPA Executive Council convened today in Washington , D.C. , to discuss several issues, many of which are of interest to the America West pilots. Today, the America West MEC presented a number of issues such as joint negotiations, MCF grant in support of those negotiations, and why the Transition Agreement supports moving to a single operating certificate to the Executive Council. The Executive Council has not taken any action on these and other issues yet; however, they will continue to meet throughout the week.

Additionally, the MEC officers and Negotiating Committee will remain in Washington , D.C. , this week to continue discussions with the Rice Committee.

We will keep you updated on all fronts as information becomes available.

US Airways ALPA MEC CODE-A-PHONE UPDATE - September 18, 2007

This is Arnie Gentile with a US Airways MEC update for Tuesday, September 18th, with three new items.

Item 1. September 27th will mark two full years since the US Airways/America West merger. Since that time, US Airways management has not only generously helped themselves to the spoils that our sacrifices have provided them, they have made sure that most other employee groups have received pay raises and pay parity to the higher pay levels of either East or West. Two years later, although management has the financial resources that were produced by our enormous concessions--we are still waiting.

No matter where you stand on many of our daunting issues, if you believe in the Equal Pay for Equal Work concept and if you have had enough of the treatment East pilots receive while everyone else benefits from our investment, then join us for a pilot-wide picketing event on Thursday, September 27th, our two year anniversary, at the Reagan National Airport. Picketing will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A flyer with all the details, including the assembly point and time, will be posted soon on both the pilots only web site and will also be emailed to all pilots.

Item 2. Much has been made of both the US Airways and America West seniority arbitration positions. We would like to make all US Airways pilots aware of what those positions were and will be posting a brief outline of them on the web site under What’s New.

Item 3. As a reminder, the Wilson Center for Public Research began polling both the US Airways and America West pilots recently. This is not a US Airways MEC poll. It has been initiated by ALPA National for use by the Rice Committee. If and how you answer questions will have an impact on the Rice Committee. If you have any questions or comments about this poll, please contact your elected representatives.

News you can use:

W.A.R. Item 917

FOM - Warning: Do not attempt to land from an unstabilized approach. The decision to go around is not an indication of poor performance, but rather good judgment.

Educate to Vacate

Below is a link to a video recording of a PHX pilot meeting with Parker on February 6, 2007. This video is posted on both the AWA and AAA Pilot’s company web sites as is all the other meetings that Parker held with employees. Parker's consistent message which has never changed, was that AWA would be in bankruptcy and would have down sized and taken pay cuts absent the merger with US Airways and that the merger was mutually beneficial for both companies.

Equal pay for Equal Work:

It has been 17 days since September 1, 2007, the start of retro active pay.
Money to be paid to each Group 2 Captain is $956
Money to be paid to each Group 2 First Officer is $468
Pilots on all other aircraft will receive the same percentage increase as Group 2 Pilots (approximately 15%).

Follow the three-prong approach, fly safe and thanks for listening.

Today US Airways had a Pilot Furlough Recall Indoctrination class. 66 pilots began the class and 15 signed the document to obtain their lump sum DC Plan contribution and then resigned. 1 pilot obtained his DC Plan contribution and then waited for his aircraft/domicile assignment. When this pilot did not receive a CLT position he resigned.

There were a number of pilots who had not yet signed a USAPA supplied Authorization Card; however, every pilot in the class has signed a card or has been provided a card, which will be returned to USAPA.

USAPA news is two-fold. One, USAPA knows who resigned and now has a better understanding of the active roster with pilot status information provided by pilots in class. In addition, those pilots who had not submitted a USAPA card where provided one and they have been enthusiastically returned to a USAPA representative.

There is one Pilot Furlough Recall Indoctrination class left, which will be held in early October. Once this class is held every furloughed pilot (except those frozen at J4J positions) will be recalled and USAPA will have a much clearer picture of the number of Authorization Cards required to have the NMB order an election.

Separately, it is my understanding things went very bad for the West pilots at today’s EC meeting.

Regards,

USA320Pilot

I just want to keep crushing this fantasy for kicks.

And nothing has changed mine. The "fantasy" is alive and well. Looking forward to the campaign. It is going to be most interesting to watch.

Soo...was it that one? Or this one from Junebug:

Hey USA320Pilot,

I heard things didn't go so well for your guys today at the EC Meeting?

Go have a 10 hour conversation with your "sources" and report back ASAP.

POPCORN!!!!

We ended up in the same relative seniority on the combined list as we did at our previous companies.

Relative seniority presumes equal contractual environments.

That did not occur under the Nic "award", hence the valid accusations of "windfall". Nobody, apparently, bothered to "equalize the contracts", thereby putting the most efficient group, the east, at great disadvantage and providing a clear "windfall" to the west, a windfall acknowledged by Capt. Prater.

Courtesy me making the wests comments available, equivalent to dancing on someones grave, I would not mind a real arbitrator redoing the situation. Aside from that, there is a clear path to moot the Nic "award", debate and come to consensus over some sort of LOH or even DOH, just to protect all of us from deprecations over future "awards".

The history of non-slotting on the part of PI over the Empire dudes killed their chances of slotting with US. If one allows windfalls now, then future mergers will always be at major risk for windfalls not necessarily in your favor.

I, a survivor of three mergers, suggest, knowing your won't, that you take the bird in the hand. At least you are warned. and, yes, I do save all comments. Hope you like the dressing with your salad.

What do you think?

Ask him why he thinks that?

Remember, he's the one that has "10 hour" phone conversations.

I finally, fully agree with you
