West pilots will you answer this?

I posted this as a reply to another topic, but got no answers, guess nobody saw it. Sorry to repeat, but curious.

Why do you guys feel the need to pour salt in the wounds? Is it because the East guys are complaining and saying the decision is not fair? Can any of you honestly say that if the award went as close to the East's side that some guys on the West wouldn't be whining?

Several months ago at one of Parker's love sessions in PHX, a pilot stood up and said something like "Hey Doug, it's my understanding that if the arbitration is too expensive for the company you can overide it. Will you?" wink-wink, nudge-nudge, please take care of us Dougy.

Guys, I don't blame the West guys for what I feel is an unfair arbatration. I think the whole process is flawed. It causes the two groups to go to extremes just in case the arbitrator leans one way or another. Have any of you experts at other airlines looked at AWA's original proposal? Not even close to fair.

BTW, I feel that the top 517 U guys getting DOH with no restrictions on bidding PHX is also unfair to AWA guys.

I don't like some of the comments from my East co-workers, but they will vent somewhere. I will continue to treat the West pilots as I always have, with a smile and a hand shake, until they show me they don't deserve it.

I think it was aquagreen that said this reminded him of Germany in the 40's. Well, it reminds me of Germany in 1918. So defeated that they lost hope and eventually sought hope and vengence in a mad man. When you are completely beaten, no reason to get along.

Good luck to us all. 2/3 of the employees of this company are miserable for one reason or another. Thank God the Delta deal fell though so we didn't ruin another company.

I believe we would be whining if the arbitraitor sided with the East proposal. I believe that the top 518 pilots all being East pilots was a benefit to some people over there. I believe that I brought an active job to the table when this merger was announced and therefore I believe that my place in line is before a pilot who was not currently employed by the company.

I hope we can get over this so that we don't tear this place apart and affect other people who did not have a dog in this fight (i.e. gate agents, rampers, etc). Good luck to us all.

F/O- thanks for the honest reply. I think if I were in your shoes I would feel the same way.

Aquagreen-you didn't answer my question, and your kidding about the salt, right? I've been in your shoes during a previous merger and I said " I understand how you feel" and left it at that. Have you ever been in my shoes at another airline?

Then quit. There are other places to be. Being miserable with your job makes for a dull and boring existance. I've been there.

Quit? No. Quitting is just that: quitting. Way too easy. I'm on this place like a tick on a coondog's neck. As things stand now, this airline will not exist if it stays its course. I will stay around and watch the train crash. Then I will urinate on this thing's grave.

I'm with ya Barbee..

The top 517 East pilots will be retired within in the next 5 years if Age 60 stands or 10 years if not. Then, the West Pilots will have all the Widebody's and Upgrades they want.

Why quit, when we can bring you down with us...
It's more fun that way...

Alright then stud you start the fire and I'll bring the marshmallows. Let's see how much fun we can have. You won't be bringing me down because life to me is more than just this job so i am ready.
