US Pilots Labor Thread 5/13-19--NO PERSONAL REMARKS

Because keeping the job you brought to the merger is not a windfall.

Putting a Reserve F/O ahead of a Captain would have been.
How is that personal bk you have doing? Sorry we cut you off from the ALPA cash cow but, you know, we could not play favorites anymore.

You have no idea what's you're talking about. Just because I'm against USAPA doesn't mean I'm for ALPA.

I've never held an ALPA position or done any ALPA work.

Go back and read my past postings. ALPA is a corrupt, self serving organization in which the majority of members want to see USAirways go out of business.

USAPA is corrupt and incompetent. That's worse.

May I suggest you just admit you are wrong?

USAPA is committing suicide collectively for all of us.

It's nice that all those west pilots want to "just move on..." I would too, if I just hit the lottery as they think they have. I think you should all recognize a few things. First, nobody is stupid enough to take the Kirby deal just so you can codify the Nic. Second, Parker doesn't have enough money (especially in this economy) to ink a deal that the East would sign. Third, the price for a joint contract just went through the roof...if it could even be done. Fourth, NOBODY in the East is going to consider any deal until we have seen the resolution of the LOA93 "unfreeze" and the likely appeals process on this Wake "deferral". Do the math. Look around. Get used to what you see right now today.

I am reminded of the Columbia tragedy. For months afterward, highly educated, trained and experienced NASA engineers held to the claim that light weight foam insulation could not possibly have punched a hole in the shuttle's wing. And then they did the math and conducted actual tests - which left them all stunned. It boiled down to simple physics.

We need to do some simple math here as well. What are the costs - direct and indirect - of continuing the fight. I fly with F/O's all the time who could hold the left seat but choose not to for quality of life reasons. While those F/O's who would choose to upgrade at the earliest opportunity need to have some reliable data. How much exactly will the Nic delay their upgrade? How much money does that translate to compared with an industry standard contract? How much is a delayed contract costing them while we go the appeal route - particularly those who are hurting the most like the E190 F/O's?

Time for the BPR to solicit some feedback and provide some realistic scenarios.

No more best case scenarios and optimistic predictions. Hoping for the best is not a strategy.

Piedmont 1984 you should be ashamed. You insinuate that because some F/Os who could be captains but stay as f/os then being an f/o really ain't so bad. You know good and well that a VAST majority of East f/os will NEVER see the left seat at this POS and an equally great number of Captains will never advance much past where they are now if Nic is implemented. A West guy commuting to PHL for a widebody Capt seat for an extra 40K a years. You Bet you a.. they will.....all of them.

Barrister......voting NO at any price until this POS it is split up and sold.

Looks like there may be some cracks in the wall.

What happens in any contract?

People go for the money and the junior people get shafted.

That is unless the junior people are running the union.

Junior A330 Captain was about 813 or so on the East seniority list. Nic didn't protect his slot. On the US AIr/Shuttle integration, Nic protected ALL widebody Captains.

This is incorrect. JUNIOR 330 Capt in PHL for June 09 is number 380

If that does not work they can call their lawyer who calls Judge Wake.

Neil Wake is a highly respected judge. If you have a problem with him, please, by all means, lodge a complaint, I'm sure that your sour grapes and lack of knowledge of the law will go far in your complaint.

Quit your whining, even a blind man could see that USAPA was wrong, how many times to you need to hear it?

Trader was being a little facetious when he made that comment, HP. Kinda poking some fun at the angry zealots running around here thinking ALPA, the west, the NMB, the courts, and nine citizens of Phoenix are conspiring against them personally.

I wasn't talking about June 09, I was talking about when Nic was doing his handywork. The junior A330 Captain AT THAT TIME was around 800.
Kinda shows you what happened after the Nic came out. Lots of people got displaced due to PIT folding and a fair amount of panic bidding.

The best statement by Judge Wake:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I thank you for your services in
this case. And I hope you all realize the importance of trial
by jury to our system of government and to the fair enforcement of our laws and the preservation of our liberties.
I thank you for your service. All the parties and
counsel thank you for your service. We have the best system of
justice in the world. And the principal reason is because we
have juries who reflect the judgment of the community, who
stand between conflicting litigants, and bring the conscience
of the community to their work. And I say this to every jury,
and it chokes me up every time I say it because it is so true
and such a fundamental part of our system of justice."

God Bless our Judicial System- it is the fairest in the history of civilized man.

And of course, the second best statement of the court:

GUILTY

None really. I just wasn't expecting to hear it the first week of the trial from highly respected Judge Wake who, BTW, is supposed to be impartial. I'm no lawyer, been on jury duty a few times. Never heard a judge discussing remedies and damages before the verdict was even read. I'm not saying he is not a good judge or anything disparaging about the man...just odd to me, thats all.

Enjoy your win.

BTW...I do not support Cleary and his band of merry men either.
