US Pilots Labor Thread 3/4-3/11-READ THE FIRST POST

The furloughs on the west were not the result of USAPA being voted in, the transition agreement called for separate operations until a joint contract.

If alpa was still the bargaining agent, the furloughs would have occurred for the west pilots. There was no time limit mentioned anywhere as to when the joint contract had to occur.

Your witness.

No. nice re-try. I read that post, and gave it all the credit it is due. ZIP.
Glad to see you admit to how you really play the game - disregard that which doesn't fit your version of "truth." As for the rest, so predictable...maybe you should take your own advice.

I think the moderators have been pretty clear about this type of thing...

""It is not now necessary to decide whether, in the absence of Plaintiffs’ lost wage
claims, the claims for a refund of class members’ union dues and fees would require a jury
trial. A preliminary analysis reveals doubts surrounding this particular monetary claim.
First, it is unclear whether the Plaintiffs have adequately alleged recovery of dues and fees
as a form of relief in their First Amended Complaint. Second, it is unclear what legal
grounds the Plaintiffs can claim as a basis for a refund of dues and fees in a fair
representation case. At the moment, it is enough to say that the named Plaintiffs’ claim for
compensatory damages supports the Seventh Amendment right.""

In my opinion the interest in this message thread by frequent flyer's and those no longer affected by the results of the situation and litigation discussed here, points to a personal agenda on the part of those that intrude on others said personal business.

Ideas are welcomed, personal agendas should be inferred by the participation of those that are not directly involved in the outcome of this specific medium of discussion.

Tired of being schooled, so attempt to disqualify participants.

That move is very USAPA. We'll call that move "The Flying Seeham."

You brought your years of service. You earned your years of service. You paid for you years of service.

How can you equate your investment with someone who invested far less. You do yourself an injustice. You make your time worthless. You devalue your own worth.

How do you know this individual didn't spend 15 yrs at AAA only to realize it's time to move on and is now at "Brand-new Airlines." It is ignorant to assume someone's tenure at their current airline is the same as their investment in the career. Although it seems a common sentiment amongst the east folk.

Those who have little or no time invested in any enterprise, have little or no appreciation or respect for time invested.

I believe it might be slightly narcissistic to place such high status upon ones self. My sacrifice and time invested cannot be compared to anyone else's. Each has their own circumstance. Just like you I could invest in a company for X number of years only to find that investment return was negative. Should you be required to sacrifice any potential returns on your investment to make up for my loses? Even with the promise of future returns? But wait there's a little caveat, no one can guarantee positive returns. So I guess it comes down to our choosing to invest or not and with no guarantee on positive return how can you place the burden of failure at the feet of another who chose differently?

I guess the flip side could also be that people with a direct interest in a given subject should have their personal motivation for posting considered when they comment on a given subject that does directly concern them because their objectivity could be tainted.

(I am not attempting to stifle spirited debate, rather simply pointing out a potential counter-argument.)

My point, I added my opinion and a judges opinion, no one commented on that. I only heard from the posters that were not directly involved in the name of this thread and only when I addressed the need for their participation in this forum.

This is not American Idol tv where someone is voted in, this is real life.
