US Pilots Labor Discussion

I have no doubt there are many friendly peeps working at A&W, Even, to this day. Especially for the first "big" company you worked at.

I have seen friendly people and cherish them. However, the west culture is expensive and contra-productive to smooth operations. It is why A&W needs cheap labor to operate. Due to Parker's pedophiliac (sp?) and completely egomaniac direction, stepping over dollars to pick up pennies seems a vital part of the PHX operation.

I have seen west employees try to blame their screw-ups on others to the point that the mission was endangered. When I try to re-orient them to the mission at hand, they continually return to the finger pointing game. It seems a feature of west employees. Where does this come from? Parker? Franke? It is non-productive behavior and needs to be squashed at every opportunity.

Almost every departure from the PHX enclave results in a late departure. What the heck is wrong there? From mechanics who have no idea what they are doing to agents who have some sort of psychotic view of closing the door ten minutes prior, even if it delays the flight.

Many of Parker's directives are grossly flawed. The only way "they" will change them is if many departures are late, otherwise I know of agents who have been fired and station managers who have been reduced to tears for something they have no control over. A really psycho operation. Even Vietnam had a purpose, something Parker, et.al. would never have an inkling about.

I'd be happy to buy the gun for Parker to send the warped fool to southern Sudan, where he might actually do some good for this world instead of just for himself.

Recent data does not support your post with respect to delayed flights at the PHX hub.

In fact USAirways ranked #2 of the Big Five in the 2011 Airline Quality Ratings. In checking USDaily Operating stats, PHX, PHL, CLT hubs have performed consistently at the same high level for the month of April checked.

Also, it is probably the directives of Chief Operating Officer Robert Isom that drive the day to day operations. Whatever he's done, the airline is running well at this time. Perhaps the injunction has something to do with that.

I've had few MEL's or NEF's on the airplanes I've been flying and except for one 5 hour mechanical last month have been on time or early out of every station, including PHX looking back for some time...

And with all due respect to your vocabulary, are you sure DP has a "pedophiliac direction"?

After the alleged union action last spring, I have noticed a marked decrease in crappy aircraft. Until recently, where I see an increase in mx problems. I, especially love the increased reports of dropped panels. I guess the epoxy they used last year is starting to fail on panel fasteners. I wonder on what else?

I think I referenced a spelling problem. If you think it was a vocabulary problem, please let loose. Are you afraid to say what you think? As usual?

OK Sealbeater. I'm pretty sure you spelled the word "pedophiliac" correctly, but I'm hoping you have confused it for another word.

DP may be a beer drinking frat-boy and might laugh about that but I don't think he'll take kindly to you calling him a pedophile.

So, you are equating Parker to a pedophile?

Best be careful what you are saying, defamation and libel is a pretty stupid thing to do in order to try to appear shocking and edgy on an internet board.

Alleged union action? You mean the kne that got USAPA enjoined?

I don't remember, but did USAPA even fight the company's allegations? No? I wonder why.

Alleged.

Budweiser and an iPhone screen aren't a good combination.

Have iphones even made it to LA yet? Otherwise know as lower Alabama. I think Mickey's Big Mouth is the preferred drink by Skynrd fans.

How about going back to lurking status where you spend most of your time.

That is great to hear. We can finally read ourselves of what's left of Cleary and any roadblock to this merger. I'm glad this is coming to a conclusion.

Last trip had a bad hf coming and going to DUB on separate airlplanes.....had been written up for same problem numerous times on both aircraft. No problem because the trip is hard time and we made an extra hr. coming back over Iceland and Greenland. Probably get satphones for all etops aircraft if the merger goes through. On the return flight from DUB we were almost 2 hrs. late because the release came through looking like bad bad Leroy Brown (like a jigsaw puzzle with a couple of pieces gone). After 4 attempts to get a release we finally got a usable one and arrived at the aircraft well after departure time with no IRO to help out. I have not been to PHX since last fall but did not have much luck been on time on most flights. due to lack of gate on arrival. Sounds like things are better there now.

DCA,

Am a Philly guy, and want to keep my elected reps. I also want to see Paul Music win in the runoff.

Could you please tell me if your views in your opinion represent the majority in DCA ?
Honest question as I don't know any pilots based in DCA .

Would you mind stating your DOH year?

I raised/butchered/plucked chickens/fowl in Arkansas when I was a kid and agree with you, this has a long way to go...You have to admit though, Parker has basically bypassed the east/usapa in such a way...it's kinda funny.

Like Parker stated in a crew news about usapa not long ago..."usapa/east always tries to over reach with dealings with the company"

OTTER
And if alpa had still been the cba he would have ignored them......because he can. He is playing to the larger audience. I think you might agree that it is not the first time he has done this.

I do recall a certain group of pilots who stopped paying ALPA when decided to form a new and more perfect "union" a few years back. Maybe some people here think that APA may be an improvement over what they have now. I'll bet some people are trading in the Yugo for something that actually moves forward.
I remember that also. It was a bad idea then and a bad idea now. Pay your dues until you have a new CBA. Your vote may mean more now. And your job may be worth more if this merger happens.

Hey jack wagon, how about you go back to where ever you came from? LS is one of the most level headed posters on this board and helps me keep my faith in west pilots when reading crap like yours.
