Respect the fact that they negotiated in good faith. Respect the fact that they willingly entered binding arbitration with the company and the east and that they accept the outcome. Respect the fact that they stood up to the worst bully in history, much to the surprise of said bully. Respect the fact that they accepted a new boarding policy for non reving without throwing a tantrum (much as said bully would have done). Respect the fact that, despite the "rookie" analogy, they ran the SAFEST airline in the world until this "acquisition" occurred.

Well said Ames, never, ever back down to a bully.

C.J.

How about finding another place for those little fingers of yours to roam. You don't understand this problem and you couldn't carry a flight bag for one of these people, east or west. Perhaps if you did a web search pretaining to your field of expertise you could find some other group to pester...

What makes you think we care OJ! Another person telling someone what to think and how to feel! Well okay OSCAR OMNISIENT! Word up the UNION is in control and in fine hands so go perpetuate massive reconfiguration on someone else! You are correct you would never survive on our world! So take your 99% and well you get it! But thanks for your CONCERN we'll ad you to our Individuals , Doing , Incredible, Outward, Undertakings, Thinking pool!

Tip for the day, if you are going to call someone an IDIOT, don't try to spell it IDIOUT. Oh the irony.

YES
attrition
Attrition means nothing in the example you are responding to. The questions was, what if you are the last person hired and no one else is hired for 10 years. If 30% retired and no one was hired that means the company down sized at the same rate as attrition. Which means you are just 10 years older but no more senior.

If you are furloughed after 17 years, at that point you are no more senior than the day you were hired. You are actually LESS senior because you no longer have a job, as opposed to the day you were hired and had one.

Actually, the East contract (Sec. 23) states that you retain your seniority up to the point you were furloughed; so you would in fact have 17 years seniority upon recall. You would in fact be no more senior than the day you were furloughed.

Respect the fact that they have been in our face with terms like "Pull my gear XXXXX" for the last 5 years? Respect the young pukes telling me how they "saved" my job? Respect the fact that they whine at crew news sessions like stuck pigs? Respect the jump seat rider that showed her ignorance of her aircraft and insulted me at the same time? Respect the capt that after I said hi to last week and he just stared a hole in me? Respect the times I've been called a scab? Respect the jabs at the accidents that took family members? What else? You have your children just like we have ours. As I said, I give respect when it is earned and there is precious little of that going on here.

Tell me Ames, what did you pay out of your pocket for my job?

BTW, you didn't spent those damages yet, did you?

So, there's five or ten people who act out, mostly on web boards, and you cry a river.....

Until the acquisition occurred? What kind of operation are you running out there now?

We're all one big company now.... shooting holes in aircraft, four wheeling through BDL, bouncing celebrities off ceilings during hard landings, plowing wings through tails of other aircraft in CLT.....

You get my drift. Oh, yeah, none of those involved the PHX based crew.

Keep buying Doug's line that we are one big company. When was the last time you flew with a CLT based based capt. You said "they" with respect to whom I should respect. You said I should respect them because they once ran one the safest airlines in the world, which would imply that they no longer did. BTW, I didn't agree with you that the west no longer did.

Those things happened and I'm none too proud of them, but I won't throw rocks either. Jeff and Sully did a good job and I am proud of them and the positive light we've gotten from that accident. Throwing around who is better is none too smart as we never know what fate has in store for us tomorrow. West pilots never make mistakes?

Back to respecting west pilots. I actually have some friends over there that I do respect. They are as good as any airline pilot on earth. I respect them because they deserve it and have earned it, not because they feel entitled. Of course none of them is a member of the EF/O club.
