US Pilots Labor Discussion 2/10- STAY ON TOPIC AND OBSERVE THE RULES

... I have to wonder if the day the ninth rules will be like the day the NIC award was announced. I don’t have the figures in front of me, but there were mass sick calls from east pilots when NIC went public. Those who called in said that they were too emotional over the arbitration to safely perform their flight duties. Sick calls and flight cancellations went on for days until the emotionally-affected east pilots could regain their composure enough to fly again. ..

The Nic flushed our seniority list of nearly a thousand pilots who chose to resign when forced by the company to accept their recall (with the spectre of nic) or resign. Nic had far more impact than just the sick calls for nausea.

How many west pilots had to call in sick from the days of partying and hangovers? Someone even said a couple pilots broke their wrists from the exuberant high fives.

I could be very wrong, but I think the last few years of humoring your behaviour on the east may not be what you can expect going forward. You will still have your vote, to be sure, but I'm not so sure that your obstructionist behaviour will be without consequence.

I'm not so bold as to predict that, but it wouldn't surprise me.

lynyrd,

Have you ever seen or heard any east pilot tell you he wants this thing merged? You might get a few of the ALPA types but that is it. As a joke, I always get on a trip with with my fellow crewmembers and tell them, we should get over this and put this thing together. I would love for you out west to see the reaction! You guys have absolutely know clue how the east feels about this abortion.

Hate

Did you hear me? What does any legacy carrier want with a large PHX Hub......you are a liability. To merge the pilot groups is suicide for Parker and USAiways. If the 9th is lost by USAPA, it does not mean that Parker is going to want a joint contract and seniority list.

Back to reality. US Airways is a legacy carrier and PHX is one of it's three hubs. Inquiring about who would want PHX as a hub is about six years out-of-touch with reality. WN effectively uses PHX as a hub, but they don't count since they aren't a legacy carrier.

Of course management wants to get to a joint contract. Isn't that why the Kirby proposal was offered? So far USAPA hasn't even put a better offer on the table since they are so pathologically committed to a DOH integration that will never be.

Lynyrd,

Trust me on this........I have never talked to an east guy or girl that wants this thing merged. You keep exactly what you brought to this merger and we keep what we brought. Average age 59 years old in the east operation means big time attrition in just over 24 months. The east side will have to start hiring off the street in 2012 because of the east attrition. Drama give us all a break. You will stay in seperate operations and you will get all that west attrition and career expectations you dreamed of when you took the AWA job.

Hate

Okay, lets start with what exactly did you bring?

You do not want what you brought to the merger, you want what the merger brought to you, and you refuse to acknowledge that has been paid for by the West. Pay us back first, then you can leave with what you brought to the merger, your furloughs and your bankrupt airline about to go under.

guess what gentlemen. No one cares what you want, if you do or do not want this merged the company is merged.

News flash we did not want to be hooked up with you guys. Delta did not want to be hooked up with you guys. UAL did not want to be hooked up with you guys. Can anyone find the common denominator?

We don't want it but we are stuck with east pilots. Learn to deal with the facts as they are or be disappointed your whole life.

Clear,

News Flash for you..........we will stay in seperate ops for the rest of our careers. That way you will not have to deal with us.

nic4,

I see we are back to how much money AWA had in 2005. Cash on hand 115 Million just days before hitting the 100 million covenant. I always seem to forget that AWA had a big bank in the middle of the Grand Canyon where they kept all the profits from 22 years in the airline business. Pay you back, that is great!

I believe you. I don't think ultimately you have much of a say in the matter though.

This proves just how delusional and out of touch you east pilots are. Even under separate ops we do have to deal with you. It was the east pilots that threw the temper tantrum and demanded and got single carrier status from the NMB. That means that we have one union to bargain for both sides that is dealing with you.

When the east coast collapse because of weather or anger issues or silly fuel ads we still have to deal with you. When the union wastes time and money on pipe dreams of snap backs or pension recovery for just your side we have to deal with you. When the east brings your management to flt ops and we have to do things the old busted way we have to deal with you.

But the rest of your carrier will not be separate ops, that is for certain.

Boy, this kid is really clueless or was still in highschool when everything was taking place here.

A bigger liability is 3000 old, bitter, burned out East pilots who don't honor legal agreements.

United and Delta didn't want us, neither does American.

I can't think of anything more irrelevant to the seniority integration issue. The arbitration board made its ruling and so have a federal judge & jury. Once the ninth rules USAPA can either move forward by putting a TA out for a vote or they will face the consequences of failing to abide by a federal injunction in addition to the consequences of being found guilty of their DFR. This will be the true test of whether USAPA grows up into a bona fide labor organization or if they will crack, fold dissolve and buckle under the pressure because every legal option available includes the NIC. Given USAPA’s penchant for hyperbole over reality it seems pretty obvious which they will choose.
