US Pilots Labor Discussion 2/10- STAY ON TOPIC AND OBSERVE THE RULES

I asked the guy three times to go with us, once to be freindly, 2nd time because I did not realize wether he understood what I was saying, third time to confirm he was being a jerk and not just hard of hearing. It became evident he had no hearing disability when my F/O, who I would guess was the same age as the east captain, says, "I think this jerk is ignoring you", to which I reply, "yeah, lets go". I have no means or desire to make him go, so the right thing to do is leave him to himself. Could not even offer him our van if he won't communicate.

Poor Black Swan...standing there pouting....all by himself.

You don't get any tenents of labor law........ Seniority is negotiable.......... You have a new union.

And our seniority had already been negotiated.

I would hardly call an association founded on the principle of taking from their fellow employees, a union.

Thanks for making that effort. Understood then, and all pompous, self-righteous indignation hereby withdrawn ;) It seems the incivility was entirely on the part of the other fellow. Said incivility within the workplace I do not agree with, nor would I agree with placing one's own personal issues ahead of getting the rest of one's crew to the hotel at the end of a typically long day. I'd offer the sad observation though, that this might possibly serve as an unhappy "survey" indicator, if even just the one guy met by chance, that there's "not-so-much" east sentiment towards the west notions of "Put out a contract to vote on and it will pass"/etc. As that was an east captain you reference.....well...so much for the east's intransigence being limited to some fantasized "Angry FO Club"....merely an observation.

Well, if you speak as well as you spell- he probably didn't understand what you were trying to communicate..........Freindly, spelled FRIENDLY, wether, spelled WHETHER. Maybe you are German, and you were in Frankfurt? I didn't realize the West flew there either......

Pouting is a response to feeling powerless, and this west crew invested about 10 times the amount of attention in this guy that he deserved. Folks like this just prefer to project their anger onto someone else and hate it when they don't play along.

In other words, they called the jerk right.

I don't personally believe that any being less than civil to others within the workplace is appropriate for many reasons. Any such behavior most certainly displays the profession in a very poor light.

As for the above posted statements though....I think it fair to allow "Folks like this just prefer to project their anger onto someone else and hate it when they don't play along. In other words, they called the jerk right." to stand on their own merits

Hey Luvn, Believe me, we in the East have considered the source of this tall tale. Metroyet is NOT a credible source for anything other than these fairy tales.

They wrote a memo. No.. really they did write a memo.. and it had letterhead on top too.

Are you absolutely sure about the letterhead? Sigh....Not good....I think that elevates it to at least a felony, if not immediate execution on the spot!!!

Just finished my X-box marathon, what did I miss?

Oh, its just Black Swan regurgitating his desperation. Lie to yourself enough and you'll soon believe it.

Keep up the entertainment !!!

1) I think not.

2) "When we say integrity, it is the integrity to live up to your word not the method".....Ummm...WHAT?...any chance of an english translation for that? I've grevious difficulty understanding subjective-morality-babble.

3) No matter though as it seems "There is nothing inherently wrong with DOH, the west has never said that." I'll withhold an additionally incredulous "WHAT?" for the the moment, and merely note that it appears we've no longer any reason for further contention then....

4) Why would/should I reasonably ever "change" my "tune" since I've not the slightest belief that other than a proper recognition of a person's time worked, experience and contributions to whatever entity is in question, precludes ever personally accepting some "relative" fantasies as to how 'seniority" should be established and recognized.?

The bottom line is that only those without much accomplished service/years worked/etc, who were/are imo, purely motivated by personal greed, and opportunistic ambition, would EVER seek to disenfranchise those with more years worked and duties performed. Such "thought", to my perspective, is simply a demonstration of some of the many frailties and flaws inherent in "The Human Condition", and is hardly anything to grant much/ANY respect to......To clarify; make that ZERO respect.

East,

Isn't it correct that in the first Nicolau award with the Shuttle pilots, you guys started with DOH and after realizing some of the Eastern hire dates the shuttle guys had, changed to a position of merging them based on their W-2's. Wouldn't you call that a disenfranchisement of those with more years worked and duties performed ?

Sounds like you have a severe case of Situational Ethics.

Flip- I was at the roadshow. I heard Bob Kirch and Co. state with extreme clarity when asked why they went off DOH "the judge said we can't argue DOH." Me-" where is it in the transcripts?" Kirch-"it was said off the record..." The room blew up. First, Nicolau most likely never said it. Second- he is not a judge. Thirdly- if he said that, he should have been removed. An arbitrator cannot make you take a position. He can recommend what he considers a smart move as an impasse breaker, but he cannot make the final call. This is what happened. I was there. What you have put out there is a fairy tale.

Sounds like you have a severe case of not knowing what really happened. As usual.

Always been a lousy speller, thanks for the corrections. Maybe you can help me out with another word. How do you spell a$$e$$ment? So many $$s I always mess up that word.

As a matter of fact, I am German, but I have never been to the capital of Kentucky, oh wait that is Frankfort.
