Flippin,
I'm sorry, your right. It's only 73.6% of the list that incur a dispairity of 5 yrs. OR MORE. See the NIC as constructed.
Total pilots on the NIC list = 6520
5 yr disparity starts at Sen #1729 (73.6% with 5yrs dispairity or more)
10 yr dispairity starts at Sen #2091 (67.9% with 10 yrs dispairity OR MORE)
12 yr dispairity starts at Sen #2473 (62.1% with 12 yrs dispairity OR MORE)
15 yr dispairity starts at Sen #3951 (39.4% with 15 yrs dispairity OR MORE)
My opinion.....Had NIC kept the max dispairity to less than 10 years we would still be ALPA (unfortunately), have a joint contract, and all be making more money by now. As much as I am a proponent of DOH, I agree it would not work in our (US/AWA) situation without meaningful conditions and restrictions. On the other hand, I don't believe straight Relative Position works either. Especially without ANY conditions and restrictions. Hense, our current situation. NIC should have struck a balance that all could live with (no windfall). Our situation was a very unique and difficult nut to crack. Bottom line, NIC Failed. He failed you, me, the company and ALPA.
