Jim,

Thank You, for the clarity and faithfullness of your comments. I'm glad someone sees it for what it is.

Unfortunately, most east guys will claim your "on the bottle"

I hope your New Year goes well.

1939 Hitler to Mussolini-"Benito, thank you for your clarity and faithfulness. I am glad you see the real problems here in Europe. We can take advantage of this situation, impose our World Order, Unfortunately, the US Britain and the rest of the world might not see it our way....."

Here is the difference, US employees think they are entitled to work, belong to unions and do the minimum and whine when they have to to more. Standard failed east coast attitude. At America West we were fighters, we did the job, we worked to move the airline forward. An airline made up of people that wanted to work, not people that felt they were owed a job. A modern company, not some failed vestige of entitlement. Yeah, HP made some major mistakes, I was screaming bloody murder when we brought on ancient 747-200's and the like, but we fought, while US folk just whined.

And, so it is today, the east is all about litigation even though they are clueless as to how the world works, its all about "don't you know how much we were through in the old days?" Too bad, we don't care. AWA rescued you from certain death and since then all you have done is spit in our faces.

No love for the whiny entitlement class.

In a normal world, you all would be grateful for a job, not whining about the one you have.
Oh boy, this is the BIGGEST bunch of wind I ever heard. You and everybody else knows this company was the biggest piece of CRAP forever. Most guys I knew would not even bother applying. Also, look at how the scheduling is being done TODAY. Multiple cancellations for lack of crews while Team Tempe prepares more misery for employees via furlough!

US OTOH battled actual professional airlines like LH, BA on international routes where crossing an ocean was involved.

However, it's posterior was handed to them by WN in Socal, Florida, BWI, PIT, MCI, IND to the point those bases/hubs were abandoned.

AWA fought SWA for 25+ years and never retreated due to competition from them. In fact, it built a major airline from the ground up right in their back yard.

AWA crossed a much larger ocean with much larger equipment than US has ever operated.

It's pointless to have to remind folks of this over and over.

More of the same in 2010, I suppose.

Great post!!! You sure do know a lot about this pilot group for only being a customer! Thanks for speaking the truth! Great great insight into our customers minds. Wow. Golly, i am speechless.

J.J.

In order to be somewhat convincing, at least spell Ethiopia correctly.

Golly..........

More of the philosophy: if you can't argue a point, you are reduced to being the spelling (and grammar) police. I guess you've never made a typo. Good for you!

Oh boy, a burned out 747 classic over the pacific. How long did that last? U at least has a massive transatlantic out of PHL. It works! HP was never a major. Never. Compare the lifetime earnings of an 82 HP employee across all job descriptions,to a U employee and to this day they still couldn't compare on benefits and W-2.. You just got lucky after 9-11. You could take a snapshot of any airline AFTER 9-11 and portray it as you do with U in a few years. Given time, we would have been right back. Your airline, on the other hand was flying to Vegas and Sub Prime PHX. It would have been toast had you not hooked up with us and our system. Thanks for reminding us of that ridiculous 747 debacle you operated. I almost forgot....

Funniest thing I have read on these forums! For a newcomer you sure know how to swat. Too bad the mods' senses of humor went the way of the dodo.

Yes. Racial Epithets are hysterical. Well done and very imaginative. You Easties always know how to raise the intellectual bar.

I wonder how bad his hangover is today.

Luck? I'd say HP's luck ran out about 4 1/2 years ago.
82 US employee? HAPPY NEW YEAR! It ain't 1982.
Massive transatlantic? Are you sure about that one?
It works? - Ditto.

You still failed to mention how many hubs and bases US was run out of because their employees chose whining and pining over what they had always had, that they failed to adapt to the present and future.

Unfortunately Parker chose to allow you to keep the US name which helped perpetuate the myth that is "the same as it ever was".

Adaptation has no Plan B. It's either that or extinction.

Lets' see, you are now down to one Sub Prime Hub, and the name was kept because HP had no recoginition other than a sub prime airline with a Flinstones themed paint job.....

Agreed! The westies cant handle the truth! They got recked!

Wow what a great post. Where is it?

"End of Black Swan"

US Air has been running scared for decades. SWA backhanded your airline straight out of BWI. The US Air business plan has always been Cave, Concede, Shrink, Cut and Run. The List of failures is too long to list. No need to. You've lived them...and will continue to.

2010 is going to be a very emotionally draining year for the End of Black Swan. BTW. The Clock ran out...did you get your raise yet?
