IF this is indeed true, it is GREAT news to say the least. ANY work that we are able to get back is a step in the right direction. Most of the contractors do a poor job, and this has cost us a lot of lost business over the years. Now if we can only get the Express work back, but one thing at a time here...For the people in Charlotte. I heard what I hope is true & thus good news. Some of the very senior early morning abr guys said we are getting back freight & mail & also that US wants to expand catering. Have any of the rest of you heard this ?
Also one of my co-workers who was up at Burger King Fr. said a shift manger from US was up there handing out business cards telling them US would be hiring soon. Also great news. Any one have info. on that ?
I know that the PHX Grievance Team is fighting for the Mesa work as well as doing a great job with handling the PHX grievances!!! They do not have the same priviledge as the East stations for time off to represent the members, yet they fight for the members aggressively, doing it between their regular shifts and getting no credit!!! I would like to Thank Them for their Unselfish efforts and hanging in when all Hell breaks loose! Thanks CL, PR and JK. Without you Brothers PHX would be in Trouble!!! Hats Off!!IF this is indeed true, it is GREAT news to say the least. ANY work that we are able to get back is a step in the right direction. Hey RoqueIn your city, when a parttime shift ends how soon can the next parttime shift begin? There is controversy over what the gap is, and the company is exploiting it by back to backing parttime shifts. Which should be fulltime shifts. How is it done in other cities?
Rogue
Hey Roque
You might want to take a look at article 26, page 104 of the contract. Lines 10-14. I dont think its so much about how much time is in between, its just that they cant be back to back. And also, if both part-time shifts end within 8hrs, and could be covered by a full time shift, then it should be a full-time shift according to that article. So it would really depend on how long the shifts are for, to know how long they would have to seperate them. But they would have to put enough time in between them to be longer than 8 hrs so a full time shift couldnt cover it. If a full time shift could cover that time, than file a grievance. Dont know if that explained it. Sorry if I confused you more.
I heard that President Delaney will be here good chance for the membership to speak with him.
Hey what happened to Joe Dirt. He appeared a while back and haven't heard hide nor hair from him since
Joe we miss your insight . Also reminder for CLT you have a union meeting May 13 @ 4:00 . I heard that President Delaney will be here
good chance for the membership to speak with him.
You might want to ask Delaney what he told me a few months ago in not to expect much of a pay raise for the new contract as the focus will be on scope and saving stations. Recall the New Direction fainters claiming Boss Canale's contract was a sell-out to management and woefully inadequate in terms of pay? You all aren't getting anything better with Delaney either in terms of pay. Fortunate for Westies that they didn't need to wait another 5 years for wage equality.
So Returns Jester.
Question for you......................Whats a "Westie" ?
