While it may be comforting to blame one group or another, that does nothing to help going forward. Everyone's focus right now needs to be on doing whatever it takes to keep the company afloat or begin seriously looking for other employment. I'm not really seeing any other options.

Good faith......Now that is a good one!!!!! Maybe now that U is in Chap 11 Bruce will do more than explore the possiblity of getting some of the monies returned from that "crack management team" that lead us out of BK last time!!!!Have to say the party is over!!!!!

Hopefully the employees of US Air will not be treated any worse than the UAL employees were by the bankruptcy judge.

I believe the USAir management was going to file for chapter 11 anyway due to the cash/debt ratio.They were just looking for a double dip in the employees pockets by concessions and then from the BK court.

Channel 11 Pittsburgh just reported that they did file Ch-11 moments ago. Now we will all see the moment of truth with whatever will happen. Best wishes to all.

Worse than that, many will loose their job and their healthcare. When you try and get healthcare somewhere else they don't cover pre-existing problems. Taking care of the family hospital bills could even wipe out a 20 year captains bank account in short order ….. Tough times are here…

My guess is next they will park the boeings (100 of them). Outsource Maint, Outsource reservations, downsize the system by 30 %, layoff 40% of the staff. Cut everyone left standings pay by 40%.

If they get out of BK they will place orders for more Airbuses and large RJ's.

Pitbull’s sources are always on the money. This is a sad day at Airways. Many jobs will be lost as a result of this restructuring. This could have been avoided if the labor leaders would have used the democratic process and allowed their membership to vote on the company proposals. I don’t blame the employees, as they are the key to our survival. Much of the blame can be placed upon the labor leaders that refused to accept the proposals that were competitive with today’s market place. The honorable judge will see that the company has negotiated in good faith with each group. I wish each and every employee the best of luck during these turbulent times.

I don't know about the DL managment types, but I guarantee you the employees are not taking any pleasure in it. Obviously, we at DL are not far behind. Good luck to us all.

This is not good news for DL...it is better for us to have US in the mkt than a strong LCC like AirTran (expanding), JetBlue, or Southwest...any one of these carriers has the ability to move into US markets they are not currently in and market a very good product at a lower price. Not at all what DL needs as we begin to right this very large ship.

Good luck to all at US! It's a good industry with some fun to be had, but there is more out there...
