Utterly,

See if this sounds familiar...

"I was one of the people in the back of those gorgeous red Stinsons who threw the mail out and then caught the new bag of mail."

"I forgive you for mistaking me for a "sir" but I'm not a "madam" either. I'm just plain Ms."

Seems like your memory is fading...or failing....

Jim

What a joke you are. As someone wrote, you must have been caught between losing your ALPA position and not being able to fly over age 60. Poor baby!

You exude bitterness and when you aren't extolling your own virtues, you probably love to pull the wings off of flies.

I actually feel sorry for you. DeNudo is right about you.

Did you know that if you sit at your computer as much as you obviously do, that your head gets very big and your body gets very small and your butt gets very flat? Maybe you should take the Mrs. for a drive now and then.

As for me, I am so done with you.

All of this, all of this vitriole coming from east pilots like udder, oldie, eastus, piedmont and a collection of others just because Jim happens to think relative seniority is the correct way of merging two disparate pilot groups. You guys apparently live pretty angry lives to treat one of your own like this on a public forum. Truly a sad and bitter bunch.

Ms Utterly taking her own advice....

You would have it so, but..turns out I fully enjoy and even marvel at the incredible gift of my or anyone's life, and gently suggest that you're merely projecting. ;)

While you're here though; how about fielding this one for us?: "Let me ask again = "Let's address the then 6 year old at the time many were starting flying for US who, under St. Nic, would be made "senior" to those people. "Justify" and spin that anyway you possibly can. I'm all ears....."

Not really since anything other than DOH is intrinsically wrong as far as you're concerned. You just want more fodder for your insults. Running out of material I guess...

Jim

Translation = You clearly, can't possibly justify such an obvious absurdity, and "You just want more fodder for your insults. Running out of material I guess..." is all you've actually got to offer on that.

Easy to answer... they went to work for the wrong airline, just like the pilots at Braniff, Pan Am, Frontier and Eastern. Any other questions?

Exactly as you said - anything other than DOH is an "absurdity" as far as you're concerned and therefore can't be justified to your satisfaction. So why play your little game...

Jim

Okay, I heard from a close friend of mine that SHE was a SIX.......6.......SIX.....year old girl....when some of these pilots were mere 19 year old BOYS hired as airline pilots.

Last I heard age discrimination was illegal in this country, and I would hardly expect an arbitrator to render a decision based on age. She and he are no longer 6 or 19, they are adults holding positions within two companies that merged. Those positions were merged, regardless of the age of those occupying the positions.

To not grant someone their rightful place on the list based on age would be just as illegal as denying a place for race or religiuos reasons.

Unless you're making the case for the career of East pilots being worth more than anyone else's, longevity is nothing more than watching the time go by. There are many flying jobs out there that involve more "sweat equity" than working for a major airline. Chances are you had one or more of them before getting hired by "the majors". Would you be equally adamant about "sweat equity" if US had merged with one of those companies? Would you be equally adamant that you should end up below them because you didn't put in as much "sweat equity?

How much did your "sweat equity" earn you at good ole US? Lots of time as a junior F/O? Now you and others see a chance to get extra credit for that "sweat equity", by taking from the West pilots who had nothing to do with your lack of reward for that "sweat equity" at US...

Jim

Relative position has nothing to do with time and effort. Time and effort, measured in units of time in the excercise of a craft which requires units of effort is a roundabout way of describing - good old fashioned work. I worked longer and harder to get my seniority at AAA than the youngster who has spent only a fraction of the time at AWA.

Is that so difficult a concept to grasp?

BTW, I like the Oscar Wilde quote better.

I am sure Braniff, Eastern and Pan Am pilots would agree with you. So why not give the ex-Braniff guys their DOH? Why not give the Empire pilots their DOH? I see, it all depends on what personally benefits you most...
As has been explained before, time and again, the Empire pilots traded some of their aircraft bid seniority for retirement, a good deal at the time, retaining their Empire DOH for almost every other part of the operation.

Frankly, you can keep the "nic", but only use it for seniority as it applies to reserve call-out. How about that?

That's a stretch, doncha think? Longevity requires nothing more than hanging around - no effort involved.
While that might have worked at elsewhere, many of us do make a lot of effort to enhance our awareness of the aviation environment.

Speaking for yourself, seemingly.

Those positions were merged, regardless of the age of those occupying the positions.

Or experience, or years of work performed, or sacrifices made,..and you're evidently just fine with that..and we'll forever differ on the evidently selfish insanity that's contained in not respecting any aspect of the afore listed elements. In the west's world view? = "..We want OURS!!/YOURS!!/Who's EVERS!!..."We don't care if we did nothing to actually EARN anything...and the arbitrator agreed we get everything anyway!!" After that? = You're all pretty much out of any real or even marginally meaningfull material.....Period.

Unless you're making the case for the career of East pilots being worth more than anyone else's, longevity is nothing more than watching the time go by.
Then, of course, your "longevity" as the father of your kids is worth nothing, right? You have never used "longevity" to justify your "opinion" with anything? Your years as an ALPA person mean nothing, you just idled along? Okay.
