TWU to hold news conference on Jan 30 to announce plans to save TULE jobs

Would all you guys be cheerleading quite so loudly if it were United Healthcare, State Farm or Allstate out actively campaigning for you not to file a claim on a policy you'd paid into?...

At this point I would be chairing for anyone who would take our side and and give us support.
Can't say much about the TWU lately other than the Jim Little comment "Fight Like Hell"...........

What no T-Shirt to go with the slogan?

Well, all the PBGC has been doing is issuing press releases and otherwise making noise. The fact still remains that they really can't stop the court from approving a termination or a freeze if the numbers show that it is in the best interest of the company's restructuring.

It's an odd strategy on their part. How would you guys be responding if HP or JP Morgan were out lobbying like this to make sure they didn't take a financial haircut?...

PBGC isn't a savior -- they're an insurance company. AA's been paying premiums for decades.

The fact is that this "business plan" of dumping promised pensions must stop somehow and somewhere. Corporations must be forced to stop screwing their employees out of basic benefits. If it was your pension I am sure you wouldn't be so cavalier about it. How far would the hundreds of millions paid in bonuses go toward keeping the pension intact? Also something that escapes the minds of the elite CEO wannabes is the fact that long ago wages were reduced in order to help fund pensions. So do the wages get increased now since they want to dump the pensions? Oh, well that is different right? I (and many others of us) have a ways to go before we are able to collect our EARNED pensions. If PBGC goes belly up who is going to fund them? Surely other morally bankrupt companies in other industries will look to dump theirs too. And for your information, United Healthcare and Aetna have been denying claims for no reason for years. But I guess to you that is good honest business practice. You know all too well that this whole thing is a plan to destroy the pay and benfit structure of the entire airline industry. AA has no intention of ever matching the pay and benefits of the other airlines. They look to force the others to come down to their level. Not too hard to see. I only wish we could do the same to CEO and management pay and benefits. You always talk about the health of the company. The employees ARE the company.

On second thought. Never mind. The above was a waste of time and ciber space. No way you can convince these people that corporations are getting away with screwing their employees, and it is wrong! I only hope that these people that condone these tactics suffer the same kind of punishment.

Rumors of beefed up law enforcement on Tulsa Base Wednesday and Finance and Planning on 2nd floor of warehouse sent home until next week.

Best interest? I thought the standard for voiding out contracts and shedding debts in BK was "necissary for the companys restructuring".
