TWU negotiations.........what?

Corporate democracy is not true democracy. True democracy is one men one vote. In corporate democracy even corporations can vote.

In the AA/TWU members are never given a ballot for International directors, officers etc. These unaccountable people appoint officials who run negotiations.

What are you talking about? Give an example of when a corporation has a vote at something.

And your last point is exactly the point I was trying to make: TWU is railed on for not being democratic, but many of you don't respect the democratic process of the corporation. That's a double standard. I'm not saying I'm happy out it, but at least be consistent with your arguments.

It took 2 years 9 months for some presidents to figure out that the TWU International are back stabbers and in control of the process! After all the company committees, useless president council meetings, no information, warnings from local members, and all the locals time and money wasted we are no closer to getting our full contract back than 2 years 9 months ago. when will we learn dealing with the TWU Int'l and the comapny; either your with us or against us"
Maybe I am the crazy one!

Are you saying that corporations dont vote at shareholders meetings? Corporations own most large corporations, AA included.

Supposedly we just got another offer from the Co. I heard it's even worse than the last joke they sent us? Just waiting for the details. Anyone up on this yet?

I posted this on another thread, but this is where it belongs. For FSC's it sucked here are the highlights, Thesecond proposal was the same as the first with the exeption of these tid-bits. In station staffing numbers(number of flights required in a city in order to staff withTWU) which potentially could have allowd the Company to de-staff 24 stations thus eliminating station protection.

to discontinue retiree medical for members over 65.

to eliminate the option of pre-funding retiree medical for members hired after date of signing.

tHE ELIMINATION OF THE PAYOUT SICK BANK FOR PRE-65 RETIREES AND USE SICK BANK FUNDS TO PAY FOR RETIREE MEDICAL BENEFITS.

aND ELIMINATION OF THE DEFINED PENSION PLAN FOR MEMBERS hired after date of signing and offer 401k plan.

Sorry about caps.
Outsourcing of a select number of interline cargo jobs in MIA/JFK.

So ours sucked to say thge least.

Good luck Amt's if it is like our's you will be getting the screw job as well as a slap in the face.

Can we start the sickouts, work stoppages and 4pm bathroom breaks now? When are we going to wake up and just go to arbitration?

I just heard that this is all true. For all you people at Centerport reading this get ready. On the local level we're about to turn up the heat!!!! Maybe your customers will make you deal with us in good faith? And I am sorry that the customers are going to suffer for this. Please don't blame us we just want the same thing as you. A decent job with a decent salary

PHX would be safe, they have an agreement with the company. SJU is one for sure that I heard.
which is a surprise. There are more but can not think of them, right now.

I for one am shocked at this as well as most who post, or will see this. I have always been one for the union, and also believe the company has a right torun a business. So you could say I ride the line, agree with the company, and agree with the union when I believe that each side is right... But this time I am at a loss for words. I saw the proposal and it was a complete slap in the face. I was talking to my station vice-chaiman, and he put it this way. Thee are roughly 12,463 FSC at AMR, and if you are in the 1-6000 range you would have a job. Anyone after 6000 would be on the streets. Just what was said, but he knows his stuff.

Don't worry BigDawg we aren't going to vote out one brother this time. This is just a part of AA's very old and worn playbook. We know the move and this time we're going to tackle them!
