TWU negotiations.........what?

Very interesting; I didn't know they made the promise to ask for everything back in 2006. In retrospect they probably should have gone after salary increases a lot sooner, as oil would have been much lower. The flip side is that, if they had, there might be a lot more furloughs than we'll see now.

Once AA returns to profitability I hope you guys get your concessions back.

They made the promise, all right. Damn - I got a great laugh from thatat that time. It's just like taxes - they never go away either.

Many missed the words "Permanent Concessions" that started flying around soon after the POS contract was ratified in 2003.
 
Maybe that's why AA is" Permanently" at the bottom of all the DOT rankings. <_<

What are you trying to imply here? That you purposely do a slack job because you're mad a management? That's not the passengers fault and I refuse to condone such behavior. I take pride in my work and hope you do, too. That's not to say we can't fight for a good package, but as far as I am concerned any idea of doing less than my job is unacceptable.

If this is true, who are the presidents who left thursday night and the international is up to their old tricks. Why must we allow the TWU International undermine our negotiations. They are self-serving and the TWU taking over the medical is not the best idea as they have proven they can't manage anything that benefits the members!

Nobody I know is doing a slack job it just takes them a little bit longer to get it done. Gotta be the best quality we can supply!!!!

Nope Frontline, not implying that at all. Doing my job the same way I have for the past 25 plus years. But........I hope your not naive enough not to see a correlation. We were at one time the "On Time Machine". Somethings changed and it ain't always the weather!

Over 7 years ago the company told me and all other mechanics that were were worthy of 7 dollars more an hour and many other benefits. A little over 5 years ago they came back and forced concessions on us all with the biggest lie ever "pull together win together!" They then said I was not worth that 7 dollars an hour nor many other benefits I had for many many years. So since the time that they raped us with the consent of the TWU Internaional I have proved everyday that they are right I am not worth the 7 dollars an hour or all the other bennies. Ya get what ya pay for. That is why morale is the lowest I have ever seen and our performance is the worst ever!!! I am AA and I still love AA but I hate to watch my company suffer from years and years of mismanagement.

Bear I realize that the bases are the majority of the problem. Although it was not by very much,AFW voted no. The majority of the yes voters came from 530-KC and 514-Tulsa. Tulsa voted 68% yes and KC voted 73% yes. Chuck mentioned fear facture and I agree Chicken Little didn't have the balls to show up at the 2nd largest local (AFW). He decided to send his flunky lawyer. We had a group of about 10 people from AFW that went to Tulsa to pass out fliers at the Brady Theater in Tulsa when Chicken Little showed up for his fear campaign. The 514 was informed informed of their intention and arrival in advance by one of the people in the group and they were not allowed in. I don't know of any other union/local that would not allow a member in good standings in to another locals meeting.

Cept me,,,, just brings me down everytime I log on... Just been loggin in lately to see what our next agreement will be cuz I know I'll get here first......Or from the newspaper...

Explain how you fight for better conditions in a way that has no effect on passengers. Management only reacts to workers concerns when failure to address those concerns affect the passengers. If there was an effective way for workers to get what they need without affecting the passengers they would do it.
